Default Profuse Sweating

Does anyone else profusely sweat while on opiates? I sweat like gallons of sweat. It's embarrassing and annoying. Is there anything that can be done to stop or avoid this? It's gotten to the point where I have to towel off every 15 minutes....

Halo

I don't personally sweat, but I used to work with a kid that looked like he had just gotten finished swimming all the time. I'm not sure if it was due to the amount of dope he was doing or what, but it was kinda gross. I just get really dehydrated on opiates. I have to drink water all the time.

Oh shit!!! You too? Man, it's not funny how much I sweat on opi's. Especially while working (construction/ remodeling), I'll be at a residents home and dripping wet w/ the A/C on. I don't stink or anything, it's almost like a sprinkler was inset into my forehead w/ pure water pouring out. Really annoying, to say the least...

I'd done some searching on how to reduce this, but can't recall at this moment what the possible solution was. I believe it involved cider vinager. I'll definitely pull the info back up and repost it here. Be right back...

EDIT: Ok, I only looked for natural remedies because I have no health insurance and wanted a cheap alternative. It says to take 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar and add Honey to taste. I couldn't find how often to take it, in my quick search... but I'll definitely try this method out and report back. I'm curious like dat. Also taking magnesium citrate is said to help, along w/ sports drinks w/ electrolyte salts. Sorry if this ain't what you're looking for, I've always veered more towards holistic cures than synthetic.

Try rubbing some antipersperiant on your forhead. Just put a little for first time and see how it works. It really does work for some people. But, make sure ya get the clear, if you don't get the clear stuff you'll have white residue on your forhead.

I'll try this out. With my luck I'll sweat anyways, it'll run into my eyes, then I won't be able to cry. Haw haw haw.

And that is strange how it only makes our faces sweat, in some of us. Everywhere else is normal... just the face. And I'm like most everyone else here w/ the WD sweats. The two are very different though. With WD's it's more of a hot-flash rushing through your body, then a cold sweat. With these opi-sweats I'm not really even hot some of the times, just dripping. Eh, I'll never be able to wrap my brain around it. Good observation/ thread though!

Oh yea... w/d sweat is totally different from opiate sweat. And it smells differently. When I'm in w/d i sware i can smell my sweat... but when your in w/d your senses are more sensitive. Everything smells nasty to me when I'm in w/d. Everything stinks when i'm w/ding.

What's weird is when I'm oppies and i sweat I'm not even hot, just like you said.

I wonder why oppiates make some of us sweat.

Yea i do and for a woman it's even less attractive. But i only sweat on my face while on opies, under my nose, temples, forhead. I found online that you can rub antipersperant in the places that sweat the most and it will help. I tried it under my nose and it worked real well.

When I'm on opies i don't sweat at all. Thankfully when i am on opies i don't sweat like under my arms... for me i only sweat on my face while on opies. Strange i guess.

Remember the Whitney Houston interview, she was all sweaty while she was talking. She was on something.

I'm not sure if everyone sweats, we all react to opies differently. But, it's a good question!

I sweat excessively on H and well into the next day. I hate it but it does keep your skin supple*

I sweat when the drugs leave my system. I find I can't get a good night's sleep anymore, by the time morning comes I wake up in a pool of sweat.

There's an old joke, "You know you're an alcoholic when you set the alarm clock for the middle of the night so you can wake up and take a drink." I used to find it amusing. These days I find it too accurate to be funny.

Halo
Shiiiiiiiiit...Try drinking warm water when hot. In BT we were taught that during some instances your body thinks its hot, but in fact you are in a surrounding that has a greater ambient temperature than what youve been used to in the last hours, or whatever the bodies last recollection of comfortable temperature is. When your cold your body is used to a temperature warmer than your surroundings, or vice versa of what I said last sentence basically. Ever wonder how soldiers drink from the same goddamn canteen for 9 or 10 months at a time?? If your in the sandbox(Afgan or Iraq) for a long time warm, scuse me, HOT... water ultimately makes you feel better than an Ice cold Dasani. I never bought it but it really was a good morale booster at the time.

Its fucking true though anywhere near a buzz, no no no...Anywhere near warding off WD's!! I sweat like a pregnant Nun in Church. And no matter what wives tale Ive heard about doped up sweat-a-ramas there isnt a thing you can do about them but deal with it

And I am Stooooooooooned people. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
