Alprazolam Recreational Dose?

Okay I told my doctor this morning the k-pins were bunk and he sent me home with 40 .5 mg Xanax pills. If 5.5 mg of clonazepam only mildly buzzed me, what amount of xanax should i take? I've heard that the xanax is more recreational, I hope that it works better than the k-pins.

if your trying to get buzzed, go get an opiate. benzos poteniate opiates. thats what most people use them for, given a few exceptions. (like sleep)

benzos are all different to different people. Look at the poll of which benzo people like most and see the diversity. Me I like valium, but yes xanax is stronger so just experiment( slowly) and just get a feel for what gets you a buzz. Be patient, I know addicts want everything right now, and not right now , but RIGHT NOW. just have fun with it, but remember the withdraws from benzos are horrible, just ask someone like Flipside about it. moderation

ajfeltz11 is right. if your just looking for a buzz, i would look for a couple vicodin. opiate WDs are nothing compared to benzo WDs.

if you have 0 tolerance, 10-15mg of hydro will do you good. i remember my first opiate high, 15mg hydro, never felt that good since. i could take 150mg hydro at once right now and not feel nearly as good as i did at first w 15mg.

haha thats funny, i just recovered from a 250-mg vicodin habit and i take 24 mg of buprenorphine every day so I know all about opiates, i've even banged a shot of h once. I know how to cop a buzz, I was asking what kind of potential Xanax has. I think everyone on this forum knows that opiates=good, but thanks for the advice.

And to whoever said it, i actually prefer valium also it is more fun and lasts longer. I dunno, maybe ill take 6 mg of Xanax and see how i feel. Does that sound right? I also take (as mentioned) 24 mg Suboxone and 300 mg Wellbutrin every day.

I don't really get a buzz from xanax. Maybe a bit relaxed, but no noticeable altered state of mind.

I don't take them that often so I really don't have a tolerance except for my natural tolerance, but 3-4 mg doesn't do anything to me except help me sleep well.

I used to use them to take the edginess off of a coke comedown. They work fairly well for that.

Be careful mixing them with opiates. They do potentiate the opies, but the combo can easily be fatal.

Go with 3 or 4mg for starters, u dont wanna end up getting hooked on it. Xanax wd is nastier than H.
I know this cause i've been on xanax for 7 straight years now non-stop.
Started with 4mg a day, now i'm down only to 0.5mg a day, but still cant quit it totally.Altough i take for different reasons; to maintain a normalized mood in order to work and function properly amongst my peers and avoid anxiety, not to get a buzz.
But as i said, 4mg would give you this buzz you're looking for.

3 mg isn't really doing anything for me right now and i munched the pills like an hour ago...disappointed again. I think I'll try adding 16 more mg of Bupe and maybe 2 more mg of Xanax.

Man I've never found benzos recreational on their own. Responsibly mixed with other shit is the way to go. Seriously, add a bit of booze and weed to the equasion. In moderation.

Actually now I feel very relaxed (after the subs and a prime joint). I definitely like the Xanax better than the Klonopins. I feel like a good recreational dose would be about 5.5 mg, with some weed and Suboxone. I wonder if the wellbutrin cancels out some of the desirable effects of Xanax and Klonopin, maybe that's why I'm such a hardhead when it comes to benzos lately. I also used to eat valium rampantly...maybe that's it.

DONT FUCK With xanax and if you do, dont do it for long or else you will have a ball and chain around your ankles for LIFE !!!!

Im very well versed with this benzo and it is helpful when its needed, bbut your body will get very used to it and quickly and will bitch slap you for taking it away from it !!!!

a person taking it only a few times, I see now harm, but do it continually for id say like, over 2 weeks and well, youve just been introduced to your new best friend for life....try not to make your new best friend unhappy or she will wreak havoc on your life and you WILL be sorry. No amount of apology will be good enough for her !!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stay away from xanax...its too late for me, but I wasnt armed with this info before hand and sure to god wish i had of been...i will NOT, repeat, WILL FUCKING NOT attempt another benzo wd !!! its god awful horrid and I speak from my own experience and knowledge of this.

Recreationally xanax does nothing for me, Ive never understood the people it does but then again we are all different. its just the brutal wd's that make this such a horrid medication !

^^ Different strokes for different folks. I'll only use them recreationally or possibly for a few days of opiate wd's if it ever comes to that (and it will of course). The one time I was actually prescribed a benzo was when I got into trouble. Never again. I wish I was the sort of person who could hold on to a few for emergencies but I find them too fun.
