Took me about 5 minutes to actually do it.... what a pussy... ms contin 60mg

I think I may have missed a little.. it looks like I have a skeeter bite..

I still feel nice.. I got that pressure in the back of my head...

Any Advice on how to help in not missing... I pulled back and saw some blood

a whole new world has turned for you man. do your self a favour and stop before the drug starts using you. Alot of people on the site are past that point so what the hell. If I could go back and do one thing it would be to not smash dope for the first time. so i'm not going to add anything to help you reach the next step. just like I said I would never fix someone for there first time.

Read the harm reduction section of our site. Your question has been asked before. Remember, search before you ask a question. I'm sure you're psyched that you were accepted to the site, but good noob etiquette (contributing to existing threads before creating your own) is important.

after you register. push some in. then recheck to make sure youre still in. go slow. but not too slow that youre shaking and pull it out.

and check around the site to make sure youre filtering those contins right. overall though, IVing pills is not a good idea. but then again, nothing worthwhile is a good idea!!!

I did search around... I have to admit the search function is clunky.... I read through the entire harm reduction area a few times already...

Anyway I am not sure the hassle is worth the rush...

My arm looks fine now.. not a bump or anything left....

I ordered some wheel filters perhaps I got some pill kaka in there that irritated the area and I didn't miss after all...

Thanks for the advice and the warnings... esp king.

If you're just starting out, then read what some of these guys/gals have to say and have a long hard think about where you're going with this and how far you're prepared to go. Using opiates is no joke, with or without the needle, and these guys can tell you plenty of horror stories about the years of abuse they've endured. However, if you've already decided (as I'm sure you have, considering you've already gone ahead and stuck the needle in), here's a few pointers (this is only advice on harm reduction; it is in no way an indication that I condone drug use):

Try to find a vein that doesn't curve or roll, one that is straight and easily visible through the tourniquet. If you're using a 5/8th of an inch needle (which I find best for shooting), then enter slowly until you're all the way in with the needle, right up to the hilt (if you're using anything bigger, like a 1 inch needle, then only go half-way). Pull back the plunger and register it for blood. If there isn't any blood, keep pulling back the plunger while you slowly ease the needle back out of your skin. If you still don't get any blood by the time the needle comes out, try entering further down the same vein or find another one. If you do get blood at some point, push down slowly and keep pulling back to check you're still in the vein; if the flow suddenly stops, pull out slowly, or push in, and pull back on the plunger to check for blood flow (you will often find that at another depth, the flow restarts). If the blood flows freely into the syringe, you're in the vein and can flush all the contents. If there is pressure and pullback, then you need to either adjust the depth of the syringe or find another vein.

I'm not one to preach, and I'm certainly not one to lead by example, but if this is your first time injecting then hopefully you're not too far down the opiate path. I'm sure you considered all the options before you did it, and you aren't shooting heroin at least, but don't be fooled by pills; they contain just as much drugs, and can easily be as life threatening/ruining. At least by posting on here you can get access to advice, or harm reduction at the very least. For more info read the harm reduction .pdf on this site, and before you go any further with drugs, make sure you have a good long think about the consequences, and read up on some of the stories about arrest/sickness/death from some of the people on this site. I'm not trying to scare or preach, but it's better to know and not care, than not know and care.

Eh, ultimately you're going to do what you're going to do. When I started here I was a plugger and a sniffer. The combo of being on this board, reading people say "OMG once I did my first shot I felt like every bag I railed was wasted" and then getting my appendix removed after it almost burst and being on IV dilaudid for 2-3 days just pushed me over the edge. If it weren't for someone posting that I could legally get rigs in MA (I'm in CT) I never would have gone up there and bought some--in fact--a whole box. It took me a few tries to get it right but once I got the hang I wanted nothing but. If I couldn't get a vein I'd IM or skin-pop. By the time I'd gotten really good at it I had to clean up my act. That's muh story and I'm stickin' to it.

Anyway, to the OP: I won't tell you do it or don't do it because you're going to do whatever you want. I know I did. One caveat at this point though--be careful what you IV. You're going to want to try to do more things than what you just tried no doubt. Make sure you read up on what you're doing and if you need to have someone who knows teach you. I second Nick's advice. Also, if you think it was a mistake DON'T DO IT AGAIN!
