Kratom banned on ebay!

So I just got word of this from vendors and members at KF. I went to check e-bay and it's still listed, but vendors did reply and say they have been told..... Fuckin e-bay man. Do you think pods had anything to do with this decision? Or more salvia? Either way it's a sad day if even "kratom" is gettin the evil eye. Honestly I don't see how pods are even still in the grey area.... Fuckin government man. "Land of the Free" haha what a fuckin joke!

Hmm I wasn't aware that ebay even sold kratom or other entheogens. Either way it's worrying that ebay even recognizes kratom as a suspicious item. Welcome to the nanny state: we have the highest prison rate of any country in the world. "Land of the free" is a load of horseshit.

On a "positive" note though marijuana policies are becoming more lax. We can all smoke weed all day instead hurr durr.

Anyway, after ebay shut down pods some of the vendors formed their own floral arrangment websites. And there are already plenty of websites besides ebay where you can get quality kratom. So there certainly isn't a dearth of places to buy from.

Kratom is illegal is very small number of countries if not just one that i can remember: Thailand, so i think it shouldn't be banned from ebay stores.
This is the DEA pulling strings, they made a list of suspicious plants & substances that ebay was selling and now ebay is going to ban them one by one. Its a shame.

I keep dreaming of a time and place where i have a big kratom tree right outside my house.

Because Ebay is a private enterprise. They can choose what gets sold and what doesn't. Their site, their rules.

I doubt the DEA is going to schedule kratom.....

they wont schedule salvia divinorum, or catha edulis.

at least I hope they dont schedule kratom.

for the most part, the DEA is worried about pure compounds.
they will control khat, or Qat...but they will not technically schedule the plant most likely.

look at all the plants that contain controlled substances....very few of the mescaline containing cacti are scheduled.
NO DMT containing plants are scheduled...
there is even a morphine containing poppy plant that the DEA specifically said isnt an issue. because the poppy plant cant be milked like a normal poppy, and because the plant is rather small compared to the opium poppy.

ebay has fucked with this issue before.
they are not consistant...and I have a feeling that some pay offs and head turning has taken place in the past.

its probably BEST for kratom if it isnt sold on ebay actually.

the DEA has bigger problems....and now that there is a global supply line for kratom, they would have a problem controlling it.

consider that hundreds of acres of poppy plants are grown inside the USA, that companies sell cocaine containing coca leaves from INSIDE the USA,...consider that Khat used to be a landscaping plant...and in Laguna CA, there are reported khat tree's growing for years. there must be THOUSANDS of khat plants established in the USA. most likely in small towns all across the west coast that dont have a large Yemeni immigrant population.

as long as people dont sell kratom for consumption, the DEA and the FDA have nothing to do with the plant.
I worry more about people marketing kratom in gel caps than I do the DEA creating a drugs of concern article about the plant.

sure, its possible some state will ban kratom.....the ban wagon is always ready to roll...

alot of the kratom being sold in the world comes from countries where the plant is illegal in the first place.
from what I have heard, northern thailand is a bit harder on the plant...but in southern Thai markets, kratom is sold openly in markets.
people are too poor in Indonesia to turn away profits from kratom, they work hard to...so they are going to use kratom to help with that as well.

what people should really worry about, is getting kratom siezed at US customs for bunk reasons. or because the kratom is marketed in packaging meant for consumption.
a few companies out there are risking their own market by creating stupid marketing for kratom products.
some of this stupidity is coming from Canada..where at least one company that consider themselves gods gift to the entheogen community is both marketing kratom as a medicine, or has within the last few years...and then claiming that all the bullshit is coming from the USA.

who knows though, maybe ebay knows something we dont.
I sort of doubt it...as illegalizing a plant federally takes more than we consider unless its an emergency scheduling.

khat is a defacto schedule I drug because it contains cathinone. it has been seized by state and federal law enforcement. however, the seeds are totally legal. its a weird situation, because like jacky mentioned, mescaline and DMT containing plants are not seized even though they contain scheduled drugs. I believe khat is being unfairly singled out and targeted because of its popularity among people of middle eastern descent.

That's the way it's always been in this country. It's always been some minority group using these little known plants that are eventually attacked and criticized and the dangers of the plant are wildly exaggerated until the Feds have to step in and "Stop the evil plant from destoying Americans!"

It's so fuckin rediculous... nothing but racist propaganda.

I'd like to see them try to schedule Reed Canary Grass... there's DMT growing all over the place around here. It's one of our most common grasses here in the plains states.
