I'm afraid that it's question of what hasn't he done.Highlights include, the rave law, mandatory minimum sentencing, being instrumental in creating ONDCP,hell he coined the phrase drug czar.Harsher sentencing for crack.

There's a lot more, but it's easier to say that Biden helped create the drug war situation we find ourselves in.

Nevermind his voting record outside drug policy.

our options are a president who wants to shut down methadone clinics or a vp who created minimum mandatory minimum sentences ...
I'm so glad I wasn't brainwashed into supporting the "answerman" obama or that shithead mccain

No, the different party presidents choose different white house staff, so it's NOT true. The two parties are very similar, TOO similar, but there ARE differences. So saying that the same people running the white house would be the same with mccain and obama is just wrong. The president chooses his aides too, and they're not gonna choose the same people. Also, the House and Senate are voted in, and they vote on the bills, but the president has the power to veto as we've seen with Bush.

Also, calling people to send in absentee ballots is hardly "working on the campaign", and doesn't qualify you to claim expertise on matters of politics.

when i said "what i said was true" i meant the helping-out thingy
i don't claim to be an expert on anything but hustling and shooting coke,
and everyone here and everywhere better be thanking god that i'm not in charge of anything important
the other thing, about who runs shit, that's just what i beleive and its probably wrong, oh well
white house staff, vps, whatever- i think the prez doesn't actually change too damn much

What you're right about is that at the STATE level, which in the end, controls the most of our lives, cause a lot of times (i'm not gonna make too bad of a generalization here, so not ALWAYS) federal law is actually pretty lax, but then state law makes everything stricter. So yeah, state law is really what affects us the most, and that doesn't really change a whole lot with the president. I mean, it DOES, just not very much. So for a lot of things, i daresay the majority of things, in our day-to-day lives, the president doesn't really change much even if it's night-and-day.

Just to be clear, I didn't say you were lying. I do believe you are volunteering.. but I also think a lot of the time you post stuff knowing it will bring a big reaction.

I actually think, to a certain extent *the masses* make ok choices when electing public officials, presidents, etc.

The problem is the choices and the corruption behind the choices.

It's just a power struggle.

Actively supporting either mccain or obama is ludicrous.

And choosing other candidates is an option. As much a voting has any purpose or meaning.

I mean if I say that I voted for the Green candidate, a lot of people like to snigger and smirk like I am so naive...

As if their vote for the Democrat or Republican made a difference in any possible way.

I think your right, the president isn't the MOST powerful person in the country , I personally

think its the Supreme Court , but the president picks them. The Supreme Court has the

power to change or not change things for many, many years to come.

I also think the Greens have a lot of power , If Nader hadn't taken votes from Gore, Bush would

have lost the election.

^^^I have voted Green, but not for Nader, he is a total ass.

re. Couple posts back

I said actively supporting Obama or McCain is "ludicrous."

Not really, but it's not something I would do.
