Codeine Feedback

I mentioned in the other thread that SWIM is getting some 15mg codeine sulphate tabs here pretty soon. SWIM has no experience with these and felt the need to try them out, because of the price factor. After reading erowid on dosages and such, SWIM will prlly start at 150mg or more. SWIM is wondering about other people's experiences with codeine. What are the negative side affects? SWIM does fine with hydro's, perc's, etc. Was wondering if codeine as rougher on the stomach than these, or any other potentially negative side affect. Also is codeine good to mix with hydro's? My theory is you would prlly need less of the codeine, and you would also get less of the acetimenophen. SWIM is a not a heavy user of opiates. Even less than a weekend warrior at this point, so tolerance is not a factor yet. Just looking for feedback on this form of opie.

If you've no or little tolerance, do 100mg first off, rather than 150mg. With no tolerance these are very pleasant indeed, should last 2-3 hours, and shouldn't give any obvious bad side effects other than the itches, dry mouth and a blocked butthole. I never suffered from my stomach with codeine (or with anything else for that matter).

I've never had any trouble with anything else. SWIM will start off with around 100mg. I figured since erowid said 30-60mg just to see how your body reacts to them and 250mg is the comfortable dose, I would assume to regular codeine user. Assuming codeine is still getting it for them. Hydro's, perc's or anything else I've had has not really messed with my stomach, so I feel like I should be good to go. I'll let you know how it turns out. Haven't had any opes for more than a month now.

Hey Zombie, I think codeine is much underrated and much maligned. Of course you won't see stars with it, but it's a heck of a lot safer to fuck around with than many of the substances discussed here, and if you're none tolerant and looking to feel nice and lift your spirits... then go for it!

I'm pretty limited as to what I have access to. Being a professional middle class type with a conservative wife in a small town definitely keeps me out of trouble. She was around when I used to party like a rock star and was tolerant back in the day. Marriage changes everything....lol

I always hear about people taking 300 plus mg's of codiene, I dont understand this. I dont consider myself opiate naive and if I take 100 mg, its nice, not great.....but nice. I dont think my stomach could handle more than 150 mg of codiene. I think I would throw up. I would consider to try 60-90 mg's to start off. You can always add to it, but if you take too much at first, you might end up bowing to the porcelian god.

100 mg's it is for starters. If that doesn't work or comes back up, then off to the xanie bars I say! Appreciate the feedback.

Yah 100mg should be good as long as you've had codeine before. It makes me extremely itchy and constipated. I know all opiates do too but codeine is pretty bad. It also gives me a dirty feeling. Kind of like a demerol overdose. lol. If I take 100mg and wait 15-20mins i'll feel pretty good but after like 20 mins of being buzzed it turns into that dirty, overdose feeling. It reminds me alot of demerol but with itchiness and less of a toxic feeling to it. Codeine is underrated though and If i were one of the people who could tolerate it i'm sure I would really like it. It's basically morphine light. lol. It can be very strong and addictive. I know somemone who's been addicted to codeine for 30 years and he doesn't choose anything else over it. It all depends on the person I guess. For some it can be heavenly, and for others it can be weak, or sickening. But all in all, it is a decent opiate. It's very easy to get too. I can buy it over the counter here. It would be interesting if somemone would buy a fuckload of it and try to turn it into morphine or diacetylmorphine or 6MAM or some sort of stronger drug. Codeine really hurts the stomach too. It's the only opiate that hurts my stomach. I'm not quite sure why that is but it does. I have a strong stomach too. I never eat before taking medications of any kind and I never notice any stomach problems except with codeine. Have a pleasant experience with the codeine and be safe.

yeah I've enjoyed codeine for awhile now and it's definatly up to the individual. Some people find it makes them really sick and depressed, or could be there allergic to it which is fairly common. I usually take a dose of 250mg and sometimes it gets me smashed other times just a bit buzzed, cause it's so weak it can be hard to feel it sometimes. But yeah for me it definatly hurts my stomach so I'm sure to take lots of antacids and milk.

Yep, no complaints from me doc, just the facts. Still like a good buzz though. Just have to be a little more careful, and time it right. If I'm sitting there scratching myself until I bleed, she will know somethings up. I shredded my back last time I tried the pods. Woke up with blood all over my t-shirt. Kinda hard to play that off. She thought I got my ass kicked by a bunch of cats.....

Is it possible to be allergic to codeine and do fine with oxycodone and such? I do recall having tylonel 3's, I think it was, when I was younger and they messed with my stomach. Not a nauseous feeling, but like a hole in my stomach or something. I get the same feeling when I mix pop and alcohol. I think my body doesn't like the combo of the syrup that's in the pop mixed with alcohol. I'm hoping the codeine works out. Like with the pods, I couldn't keep the tea down (stinky or regular), but did fine using the tincture method. SWIM will just have to experiment with his body chemistry. Glad I asked though, before I did something like jumping right in at 250mg or something.

Okay, SWIM finally got his codeine. Had his expectations set way too high...lol Started off with 105 mg's. Got a warm feeling and that was about it. SWIM could get a warm feeling from a couple of drinks and prlly save some money....lol SWIM will prlly double the dose next time, but he thinks he got himself all worked up in anticipation over kid's stuff. Seems like a good thing to put in a first aid kit though. Not worth the trouble so far.

I wouldnt write it off just yet. Codeine is pretty good for some people. I can't use it cuz it kills my stomach but I can see it giving a decent buzz if you take enough.

Is it possible that its not codeine? i know this sounds strange but i have seen SOME (a few out of say.. 30) pills where i thought they might be imposters. Also, are you extracting? if extracting you can mess up and not even get but maybe 10mg of codeine if filter gets clogged or codeine didnt get out of mix. Even when i was on oxy i could feel 90mg of codeine. 120 felt better, but i could still feel it fairly well.
