How long the high lasts: A test.

Ok my little dumplings, I'm going to take a few T4's. Total amount is 240 mgs of codeine. Mid way to the body's ceiling dose of 400 mgs. For some reason I have a large tolerance to other things, including heroin, but codeine still rocks me every time. Go figure. Anyway. I have an empty stomach. I'm taking these now, will post when I get high, and then post when I'm down.

I'm doing this to prove how measly the duration of this high really is. I'm not trying to say "hey taking codeine is a waste you wankers".

Ok.. down the hatch.

Nick, no itching yet, but if I do, I'll put on my sandpaper mittens.

Oxy, my high only lasts for 20 minutes. Its rather depressing. Thats why I want to time it. I have easy access to T4s, otherwise I wouldn't bother really. Hopefully tonight I'll get what I really want... A nice little bag of cream powder with a stamp on it. I'm weird like that; I can rock with the codeine AND the diacetylmorphine. I'm vewy special.

Ok now time to entertain my "guests", as they are looking over my shoulder.

when i have even a little bit of an H tolerance every other pill i take lasts only about an hour and then its all boring from then on (if i can even feel em cause of the tolerance the H gives me).

im guessing 2 hours like oxycontinuously

You want it to last longer? Try some grapefruit juice about 3 hours beforehand. I know that 3 hours seems uneccesarily long but for some reason is seems to work best that way.

yea no shit, if I do codeine, it's for w/ds and I hit the ceiling at 400mg and I have to take all sorts of anti-itch precautions! cortisone, diphenhydramine, any anti-histamine gel or pill because I will break out like I'm in hives or something itch-wise

im the same, codiene still gets me super drowsey even at low doses 60mg
alot of websites say that the more you take doesnt make it stronger, just makes it last longer in its duration

codeine makes me break out in hives and makes my face swell, and i damn near scratch the skin off of myself even just taking 2 T3's and chewing them i wound up having someone call an ambulance and got a shot of diphenhydramine. my throught didn't swell or anything, but i tried to take a shower and that didn't help a bit. i was still scratching myself like a wooly mamoth with crabs. but yet no other drug i do makes me itch, even at verrry high doses.

at 200mg i would always get nauseous when using this drug......
i did it several times and always got the same result....
my least liked opiate....
any theories as to why it still rocks your socks while so many other user feel nothing or hate it?
do you think it may be a reverse placebo?
person thinks codeine is a weak drug, "im an experienced opiate user , it will not do anything to me"...
or something like that maybe a tad it more eloquently put....
i think people tend to forget how subtle a codeine high is....and miss out on it expecting something big to happen

Different people are able to convert varying amounts of codeine to morphine, so for some people it really is stronger than for others. An unlucky few lack the enzyme that converts c to m, so they get nothing out of the deal.

I am tall and muscular for a woman and I feel the first signs of 200 mg pure codeine kick in at around 15 minutes after consumption. In about an hour I reach the peak, plateau for another hour and land gradually, being completely down at roughly 6 hours after intake.

Grapefruit juice potentiates because less opiate gets metabolized, meaning more of it stays in the bloodstream.

But since the high of codeine RELIES on that metabolism, DONT use grapefruit juice with it. Less of it will be converted into morphine, meaning less high.

To be honest, I'm sick to death of people propagating the myth that grapefruit juice weakens the effect of codeine when they clearly know very little about it. Mark my words;

Grapefruit juice does potentiate codeine!

Here are the facts:
Grapefruit juice (GFJ) inhibits cytochrome enzyme CYP3A, not CYP2D6. CYP3A is responsible for conversion of codeine to norcodeine (an inactive metabolite), therefore inhibiting it makes more codeine available for conversion into morphine. Furthermore, with CYP3A inhibited, less morphine is metabolised into inactive compunds leading to a longer duration of effects (as is the case with most opiates/opiods).

Please get your facts straight before posting misinformation.
