question about Codeine 8% for my mom

Hey all.

My mom is in a lot of pain from a foot injury and can't get to the doc till next week (she lives in a small town) and she has two bottles of the 8% codeine from Canada, she has a whole bunch my uncle gave her after he passed through Canada from his home in Alaska. Anyway, she took one and it did nothing for her pain. I told her i am pretty sure she can take 3 at a time but i told her let me ask my friends on this forum about the max APAP. I don't want my mom to get liver damage.

So how many pills can she take of the 8% codeine pills from canada? I think they have 300 mgs of APAP. Isn't the max of tylenol 4000mgs.

I told her soon as i got an answer I'd e mail her with how many pills she can take at one time. I just don't want her to get her liver sick. She didn't even know you can take more than 1 LOL. She is very opiate naive, she knows nothing about oppies. I always have to explain her meds to her, that is if ans when she ever get any.

I want her to get some pain reliefe, she is in horrible pain. Since she has low tolerence i also don't want her taking to much codeine. She's only taken oppies meds a few times in her life.

Anyway, I'd really appreciate advice and answers. I did google but i couldn't find the exact max tylenol and i can't remember if it is 4000mgs max a day. I know a pharmacist told me that but i want to hear from you guys.

My gut says she could take 4 of them and be ok.

I assume you mean 8mg? I think 4 (32mg codiene) would provide some good relief for the opiate naive. Depending on the extent of the pain of course. That dose 2-3 times a day should be no problem.

Yes its 4000 mg how ever if alcohol is in the mix make
that 2500 also any toxic symtoms may not show for 12
hours or more. Hope yer Mom feels better.
