Default Temazepam for sleep

I was Rx'd 1 15 MG cap HS (at bedtime) to help me sleep off the oxy(codone/morphone) combo from the day. The doc kept pushing it and said it works really well, etc.

Here I am again, 2nd night in a row with 30mg's in me..and I can't sleep worth shit - this shit doesn't even make me tired...

What else could I try? The OTC shit doesn't work, and I've tried kpins... I'd really like a cheap pill, that just knocks my ass out within the hour. My Doc is pretty open to new things so I just need a few suggestions, etc.

hell, I'm not on a kick and no amount of nodding keeps me out for good..seems "a hammer over the head is about the only way to lose consciousness." may be the only way to go..

Try with Flurazepam(Dalmane®) or Nitrazepam(Mogadon®) or Lormetazepam(Noctamid®)...or even..Flunitrazepam(Rohypnol®)..if your Doc.'s so open to prescribe you this last one You'll be just fine..trouble is..it's in the drug schedule#1 pretty much anywhere..in the us for sure..(CI..is that what it's called?) so I figure it requires a special Rx..I'm not too sure though.

I just had my first go on mazzies, just for sleep. 30mgs (equiv of 20mg diazapam I think) only knocked me down for 3 hours then minor withdrawals woke me up and that was it. For me still nothing beats good old valium (and I've tried mogadon, kpins, xanax, halcian). 20mgs of valium would have given me my much needed 8 hours, that I know for sure.

My 4mg Tizanidine/Zanaflex can knock me out...
Been on it for 4 years, and it is the motherload of muscle relaxants
No one is scripted this? Well, I guess it is for MS patients and more advanced cases of bullshit problems like mine. The shit works, it continually fucks me up when needed, in fact, I can't even take it during the day, and my tolerance is generously huge.

Flunitrazepam and Midazolam are the two (benzodiazepinic) active principles found in the knock out pills by definition.Temazepam,Nitrazepam,Lormetazepam,Flura zepam..even Alprazolam can do the trick as well..but they're not even close

Yep, temazepam is one of the metabolites of diazepam.

I have really bad insomnia, both a hard time falling asleep and a hard time staying asleep, sometimes I wonder if it has anything to do with years of off and on opiate usage although I've had some of my symptoms since childhood.

I started on temazepam a couple years ago and it worked for awhile, I also usually have a few drinks at night - don't really get drunk just good and buzzed because it helps knock me out (along with opiates which work better than anything but are a can of worms in themselves). After about a year the temazepam started to not work so well so I'd take more and more. Once that started it was only a couple months before I could take 6-8 15mg caps with a pint of Vodka over a 12hr period and still be sleep deprived. I'd had small amounts of Valium before with good results so I found a good shrink with "addiction specialist" next to his name because I knew I was addicted to the benzos at this point; I was waking up early in the morning due to hypersensitivity to (morning) light and sounds - both classic symptoms of benzo wd. So I told him that I wanted to switch to Valium and gave him the reasons why and he said no problem. I haven't started a taper yet but I will within a year or two.. I'm seeing a different doctor now and she has no problem writing for 20mg a night but told me she won't increase the dose which is fine. My sleep would be a little more consistent at 30mg but I'm really wary of the long term effects of benzo addiction and I know I don't want to be on them forever.

Insomnia is a bitch. At the peak of my onset, I'm sure everyone I knew thought I was going insane. Nobody gets it either, they all take sleep for granted and have never experienced true deprivation and how badly it fucks with you. I could go on and on about the severity of sleep deprivation..

At this point the only things that guarantees me a solid 6-8 hrs of sleep are Valium and Opiates or maybe a fifth of Bourbon. Alcohol knocks me out but usually doesn't keep me asleep. Some combination of alcohol, valium and opiates is the only thing that keeps me going at this point..

Not a sob story, just my experience Valium has worked best for me and is the best one to get off the (usually) inevitable addiction that follows chronic benzo use.. Tell your doctor you've tried everything else and it's the only thing that works...
