Like Goldy, I've enjoyed your rambling.
I still haven't figured out what you did that was stupid. ![]()

Oh shit, that is funny Gold n Diamonds!
The reason I think I did something stupid is because I signed that pain contract and said I wouldn't get any pain pills from another dr. and I would only use one pharmacy. SWIM, no matter where they live can always find someone w/access to pills. SWIM thinks they must have a tracking device up there butt. It never fails which town they live in they always make friends with people in the know. They have asked their friend which Dr. everyone is using for their meds but friend says they don't know. |

Please don't take this the wrong way, cause I obviously don't know you, but you come off here as a bit of a hypochondriac and/or seeker. I'm not saying you're not sick with the flu, in pain, bi-polar, coughing, or anything else.... that's not what I'm saying at all....
BUT, you sound very much like a person that goes to the doctor frequently and starts asking about what medications he should give you. If I were a doctor and you came in... already on opioids... and you start saying you need cough medicine (and obviously we're talking about codeine cough syrup, otherwise you would have just went to CVS instead of the doctor) you're gonna make me a little suspicious. Sure, the Doc definatly overreacted, but try to see the facts from his point of view: multiple doctors, multiple pharmacies, asking specifically for opiate cough syrup (more or less). I don't think you Doctor is that far off with his assessment, is he? Besides him being a dick about it, of course. After all, you are posting on Opi. I think you're just pissed that he saw through your act -- which sucks, I'd be pissed too. Again, sorry if I'm the one that comes off as an asshole here... take it as an honest opinion from someone that has no vested interest in your situation. |

sounds to Me like the pharmy's and Doc's had been swappin' info about ya.... I HATE when they do that !!
Thats when I usually put on the frame of mind where I get the attitude of " HEY...I'M the Patient and your workin' for ME..I PAY YOU...not the other way 'round pal !" but ya know...that can back-fire so then what I would do instead is just say," The medication only works for a half hour and then I HURT all over again doc..*shhh-niff-Shhh-niff-Owww-w-ww-w !!* " and since that is actually more believable because of "tolerance" issues then I would get something SLIGHTLY stronger..... I have found that one must be wise and imaginative in order to get the doc' to do what ya need 'im to do... another thing...I find it uncomfortable when they approach me about my "problem" and that is when all of a sudden I gotta find a new doc'.... thats just me though...

pharmpkm, I see your side. I haven't been on here long but I have had the flu all week and since I'm stuck at home I have had a lot of free time to get on the site. Also, I am bi-polar, my dad is bi-polar and my brother is schziprenic (sp). Unfortunately it runs in the family and I went undiagnosed for many years.
I should have mentioned that when I was at the Dr. for cough med he also had to put me on antibiotics cause I had bronchitis. The reason I went to the Dr. is because I was sick. I am also a chronic pain patient and of course don't have any way to prove it to you but I know, boy do I know. Of course you can think anyway you want as can I. But good news I feel better and go back to work on Monday. I am tired of staying in the house plus I need the money. Hi Jdot, I see you are new too. Sidman, I did get pretty indignant with the Doc when he started on my ass. I am in a small town and there isn't much of a choice of dr.s. We both pretend that the confrontation didn't happen. LOL I am pretty good at denial. |

He either didn't get the report, didn't see it, or forgot about it. I would DEF bring it up. Best wishes.

Hi Suzie, I know I should bring it up. I should have done it at the time I found out which was almost a year ago. I was humiliated and am such a chicken shit that I am really going to have to talk myself into bringing the subject up. Well, I have until the 20th to worry about it.
Thanks for the best wishes. |

Of course I can, sis! And if he disagrees, I'll just throw a brick through his window, and continue to do so until he gives you that much deserved raise!

I've just kinda skimmed over the replies so pardon me if I duplicate anything.....
Sister, I think it's time you went in and just told the doc that your meds aren't quite working the way they usta. You're finding that you need to take either an extra pill or sooner than usual to get the same pain relief that you were getting a couple months ago. You already have a tolerance issue, just lightly remind him of this. What happened a year ago is old news. It's ok to get pills from your dentist even while you're on pain management. So you need to quite beating yourself up over this....you did nothing, absolutely NOTHING wrong. Okay?! ![]() That Ambien is scary shit. You are not alone in the stories you told. My hubs usta cook an entire dinner, eat it, clean the kitchen up like nothing happened, then go back to bed. We kept wondering why he was gaining weight. Then one night I woke up...I ate with him and had a really nice conversation. Imagine my surprise the next morning when he knew nothing about our discussion. ![]() Written by farmpkm: Please don't take this the wrong way, cause I obviously don't know you, but you come off here as a bit of a hypochondriac and/or seeker. I'm not saying you're not sick with the flu, in pain, bi-polar, coughing, or anything else.... that's not what I'm saying at all.... You've come to the conclusion that Sister is a hypochondriac and drug seeker because she's gone to the doctors a couple of times? Wow...that's all I can say. Wow. Why can't Sister go to the doctor frequently (what is 'frequent' when you're sick?) to find out what meds she can take for whatever is ailing her at the time? You see ads for different medications all the time, we are bombarded with medication ads everwhere we go. Why can't she go and see what the latest and greatest in medsville is? If Sister does go to the doc alot like you are assuming, and if you were a doctor...you'd WANT a patient like Sister. Can you imagine her co-pay's at the end of the year if she goes frequently, like you assume? ![]() Sure, the Doc definatly overreacted, but try to see the facts from his point of view: multiple doctors, multiple pharmacies, asking specifically for opiate cough syrup (more or less). I don't think you Doctor is that far off with his assessment, is he? Besides him being a dick about it, of course. After all, you are posting on Opi. Again, sorry if I'm the one that comes off as an asshole here... take it as an honest opinion from someone that has no vested interest in your situation. She is seeing the facts from the docs point of view. That's why she's a little timid about asking him for an increase in her medication. You can tell Sister is a woman of integrity because she DOES feel bad about signing the contracts and then for reasons unforseen by her, she had to break the contract to get the medication that she needed. Things happen in life... What does posting on the 'phile have to do with any of this? She's relating what has happened to her to see what others think.... We read what you think. However, the next time you have no vested interest in anybody's situation, and all you want to do is dump on them. Please don't. p.s. thank you for apologizing if you came off as an asshole, because you did. ![]()
