Oy, you guys

- we see this a lot in the psych hospital where I play nurse. Usual scenario is some pale, sweaty, hunched over scared looking dude comes to the nurses station 3 hours after being given the trazadone - it's what we use as our first line sleeping medicine. When I ask him what's going on his voice cracks and he's usually a little tremulous because priapism HURTS.
It's a medical emergency. We send the poor guys over to the ER at the main hospital to have the needle Actavis mentioned inserted into the poor member and drain the stuck blood.
The scsariest part is if you're too shy/embarassed to go to the doc about it the damage can be permanent and you can kiss your boners goodbye (in a manner of speaking.....

)
It's not all that common. I've been working at the funny farm for 18 months now & we've had 3 guys head to the ER.
