Exclamation Opiophile.org Rules

Opiophile.org is here for the opiated. We're not a recovery board, but an information exchange designed and developed to promote opioid research, awareness, and harm reduction. In light of that, we're not here to 12-step anyone. This also means that in turn, we'd rather not be 12-stepped ourselves. (Opiophile.org does not condone nor do we denounce the 12-Step philosophy, it just doesn't belong here.)

Opiophile is for and about those who use opiates daily or even just occasionally. We're not just about pharmaceuticals, but also the researching of new plants and materials with opioid properties (our primary direction.) Check out each forum group; there's one for just about anything - and if there's not, let us know and we'll do what we can to create one for you.

We welcome any suggestions or input from Opiophile.org's members (and if you have some, click here.)

So far we've only come up with a small number of rules, and we'd like to keep it that way if it all possible. There are a few basics, like don't type in all CAPS, don't post twice in the same thread (edit your previous post), no flaming, you know - general forum etiquette, but more important:
  1. Don't get us into trouble.
------Trading medication or selling prescribed medication is a federal crime and will not be tolerated. Please don't do that here. Posting public messages about selling your meds is the quickest way out of here. Posting your email address or other personal info for others to contact you tells us you're soliciting. Using the board to 'meet up' or to discuss past meetings with other members also tells us you're soliciting. We aggresively ban all those who attempt to engage in solicitation.
  2. Don't make us a liability.
------There are times, especially as an opiophile, which can become quite desperate and confusing. Please do not post anything here concerning intent of injury to oneself or another. There's just no need for this, and what are we going to do about it anyway?
  3. Don't make yourself a liability.
-------Heard of SWIM (Someone Who Isn't Me)? A great third-person method of phrasing incriminating statements. Sometimes, it might be better to mention a friend who's getting into trouble, rather than yourself.
  4. Don't be stupid.
-----Never is there any reason that one should be attempting to illegally buy or sell drugs on this board. One might think that this rule is a given and need not be mentioned; think again. Many times throughout the life of an opiophile will he or she be in need of 'medicine'; this forum is not the place to get it, ya dig? The posting of legitimate online pharmacies is certainly allowed, the posting of a single email address with a menu of chemicals, all in caps, is not.
  5. Don't be an asshole.
------If this needs explaining, you need to head in the opposite direction.
A breaker of these rules will be warned on one occasion and will be dealt with as patiently and respectfully as possible (or as the day allows.) Any breakage post-warning will result in the permanent banning of your IP and email address from the board. Dynamic IP? How about the banning of your entire ISP? We've done it.

Additionally:
  1. We DO NOT change usernames by request.
  2. We DO NOT delete threads or posts by request. Ever. Think about what you're saying before you say it, as once you do, it's there to stay.
  3. We DO NOT delete accounts by request. Don't ask.
  4. We reserve the right to censor, edit, add, and delete material at will. This board is not a democracy.
  5. Adding the following disclaimer to a post: "If this is against the rules, then please delete..." IS NOT acceptable. You will be held accountable for any rule violations contained with your post.

Default Re: Opiophile.org Rules

Regarding Real Life Encounters:

Members are not permitted to discuss encounters they've had with other Opiophiles in "real life" that involve drugs and/or drug related activities. No exceptions!

This is for liability reasons.

Regarding Street Names:

Members are prohibited from providing street names and/or intersections, or specific place names when describing "The Scene". A general area is all that will be allowed. For example: Saying there is good dope at 5th and Main is not allowed, however saying that good dope can be found on the West Side is OK.

If you're not sure, don't risk it, ask a mod or admin before you make a post. Don't hang yourself.

Multiple Accounts are Prohibited:

Members are not permitted to have more than one account at Opiophile. Members who knowingly have and use a second account, yet do not notify an Administrator or Moderator to have the duplicate account deactivated may be banned or infracted.

Default Re: Opiophile.org Rules

also... a new rule that pretty much falls under the not listing of vendors.

this is a new rule that I am bringing up to try and circumvent the discussion of substances licit or illicit that are tied to a brand name, or store/vendor. ESPECIALLY if the packaging/product does not fully divulge ingredients of the material, ESPECIALLY if we are talking about herbal smoking blends adulterated with bioactive/psychoactive research chemicals...which I feel is a real hazardous marketing scheme that does not fall under the spirit of harm minimization efforts.
especially spice alike, and or in addition to herbal smoking blends, "legal high" packaging/pills, head shop goods, incense and aroma products.

the reason is, that if I continue to allow such, the website will be overcome with advertisements, and people basically marketing substances, for their benefit, and or vendors/companys benefit will be hard to seperate from the individuals who are just impressed by a product and are giving an honest revue.

this is not applicable to people just talking about certian herbs/plant materials.
this does not include pharmaceuticals/drugs. people that have a licit reason to use a pharmaceutical including medical cannabis in states and countries applicable.
