I feel like everytime I get a good nod is my favorite time in my opiate using career hah
    "This is the best everrr...."

But in all seriousness, I would say my favorite time was my sophomore and the first half of my junior year of college. I was living in VT, had a beautiful gf (who went to school in RI) and lots of pussy on the side, I had an awesome group of friends, etc. I was picking up usually around 2 lbs of herb a week and either 100 80s or 250 blues depending on what he had, and lots of xanax and other goodies every week. The weed was always awesome and I would get tons of different strains, was sniffing oxy to my hearts content, partying with my best friends and lots of hot girls at my school and at friend's schools, money in my pocket at all times....

Then I got kicked out of school, because I missed so many classes, but hustling took up so much of my time and I was always nodding too hard to go to class if I wasn't running around. Then I lost my connect, and things went downhill really fast after that. I look back now and wish I had done things much differently and not fucked up my opportunity for an education, but fuck if I didn't have a hell of a time

    errrr....SWIM

Haha yea i kinda feel the same way opi8. Isnt that DEEP sedating nor where you feel lighter than the world around you and your just totally at ease. Like nothing in the world could make you upset...then the phone rings haha but really though i would have to say anytime before the first day i woke up sick. Since then its just heen a downhill battle ever since.
Vice, in its true light, is so deformed, that it shocks us at first sight; and would hardly ever seduce us, if it did not at first wear the mask of some virtue.

I'd say my first year using regularly, 98-99, I remember shooting up with some middlemen friends of mine (wasn't using enough to find a real dealer yet) who had like multi year, 3 gram a day to barely stay well habits of BTH...and them jealously watching me strike gold in my median cubital vein and then groan aloud, brow furrowed in pleasure, when the rush hit me. The girlfriend of the pair told the boyfriend to "shut up and let her enjoy it!" when he started bitching about how he wished it still felt like that for him. How naive I was, I thought I'd never know wtf that was like from the other side.

Also during this period, a couple "drug vacation" trips back east, and the rush and novelty of scoring bags of ECP off the street, in the city I grew up in. It felt like SUCH an accomplishment when after 3-4 days of looking I finally got introduced to a direct connect on 138th St and Bway who would sell me grams, and then one of his boys would give me a ride back to my parent's house because I spoke passable Spanish. My cute-twentysomething-punk-girl-ness was almost as valuable as my money in those days...

Basically, yeah. We had the discretion where they could be arrested for having Taliban ties, because that's who 90% of them sell to, but we never did unless they had weapons above and beyond what is normal, an ak, or old rifle. It was better to keep them happy with us than send them to jail to be questioned for a few weeks, and lose out on work for that time. Most of the time it would be offered, but sometimes guys would just take some. You have to keep in mind that these guys literally had sheds packed to the roof with weed, hash, or opium. A handful is hardly breaking the guy, about the same as pulling your car over and taking a couple cobs of corn from a field here.

I have seen a guy literally take 3 drags off a cigarette after landing at a post in the mountains, and pass out where he stood from lack of oxygen. Dip has always been popular in the armed forces, but fighting in the mountains, karengal, swat valley, parrots beak area, tora bora, made it almost necessary to switch from cigs(at least until you got used to the elevation). Some guys even did some blood doping to make sure they would be ok while at high altitudes, it lets you get a lot more oxygen to your muscles and brain.
I've erased my reply to this 2x, so I'm gonna shorten it up this time. Fuck lol. Anyways, I meant the drugs part sounded nice because I know hiking around Afghanistan with 80+lbs of shit sucks and then you're getting shot and bombed by illiterate peasants. I tried to enlist in the Army after my first failed attempt at college b/c I wasn't too deep into opiates and I knew it would straighten me out for a little bit (and guns). Medical issues kept me out, though. Probably for the best, but its one of the things I will always kind of regret not being able to do (military service).

It was what it was. Very strange country when it comes to logic and loyalties, trying to deal with locals using normal conversation and common sense didn't work, we ended up pretty much relying on the knowledge of our interpreter about the area, but we didn't have a whole lot to do with the locals, we weren't tasked with re-building/building the country at the time. The guys who are doing that have my upmost respect, the people are great, but trying to get them to agree on even simple things that are obviously good for them is a huge task. It was closer to 110lbs of gear when we first went in, were able to shed a lot of that once bases and posts were set up, and we knew where we were going to be operating. Carrying that much sucks, especially if you are a smaller sized guy like me 5'9" 175lbs at the time. It just drags you down, but you have to keep carrying it no matter what so you just keep walking, trying to pay attention to what's around you when your back, knees, and feet are killing you. It's a unique experience, I don't know if I would call it good or bad. Had plenty of good times, but plenty of terrible ones too. And carrying that much gear you can easily topple over like a turtle, and not be able to get your ruck back on without a buddy helping you, it's kinda funny to see, but sucks to do.

I was thinking about this and had a thought: Somewhere along the lines, using became too much like work and not so much fun. These days the only good part is like the first 20 minutes of a shot. After that no matter how much I've had it's not that great. I either barely notice it or I just fall asleep. Not even a nod, just out. Wake up a few hours later.
