i finally found a sub doctor that is covered under my insurance.
he wrote me for 4mg 3 times a day and my copay is only 25 bucks.
i have to go in every two weeks for the first two months i think.
he also only wrote me for one day, and i have to go back tomorrow to pick up the two weeks worth.
so.. anyway... hopefully ill only have to go to a few appointments before i have more than enough to last for a long while.

were you up front about the reality behind how much bupe is prescribed vs whats necessary? i did that the first time around and sorely regretted it.
ended up switching to a different doc who was going to prescribe 16mg/day regardless of what i had to say, though 12mg/daily is just as good.
hopefully this ends up working out to your advantage in the end, and seeing as youre a smart guy, im sure it will.

Thats cool man. Shit, I couldnt find a doctor one out here in my parts that would prescribe Bupe w/o a 3 day "observed" withdrawl before induction. And on top of that, a huge down payment and NO insurance on planet Earth would pay for ANY of it.... Well, anything short of top notch COBRA insurance.
So, congrats bud. Im glad you found a way......
Just out of curiosity, have you ever tried Methadone? Not that Im suggesting it. Not at all. Just curious what greater benefits you find with Bupe.... Again, congrats.

i have used methadone recreationally before, but never for any extended period of time.
my reasoning for using the sub over the 'done is first and foremost, the price.
with my insurance covering most of this, i think it will be around 100 bucks for everything, including appt.

That's really good news. I wonder why they wont let you take benzos, some sub Dr.s prescribe them yet others wont let you take them, weird. You shouldn't need them anyways, hopefully the subs will allow you to get some stability and improve your life. Things are looking up for you!

My SO has just started Methadone treatment and I am so happy. It is helping with my intake as well even though Im not in the program due to physical pain (still need my meds at this point) but you can really see how a lot of it is mind set and that if you are positive a lot of great things can happen. I am happy to see her so happy it make me feel good. Makes me feel good you are happy too. Keep it up and stay with it buddy. I know it can be a hard road but things will become great in your life before you know it! there is always hope!!

What's interesting about opiates is we take them to feel happy, then somewhere along the line they do the opposite. That's when you need to choose happiness over depression. Positive energy is the way to go, even if things arn't good. Trick your self and act like they are. The good thing about suboxone is it allows you to get there without being sick. After awhile on it your body starts to recover a little bit, eventually you can taper off of it. So that's what's good about it, it's easier to get off then methadone( still can be a bitch), you dont have to go to a clinic and you can recover from it. It's a valuable tool for someone looking to get on the right track.

Just hope you never get hurt bad. My friend signed the same contract if its the one I'm thinking of and he was in a car wreck and was treated with toradol, tramadol, and tylonel 3. He was in pain the whole time. Hopefully in your state its different, but that shit goes in your med records bro. I had to sneak him in some oxy. I must say though his doc was an absolute prick who looked at my friend as a junky piece of shit.

No doubt man, I mean it probably depends on the doctor(his doctor was a young snobby, I'm better than you, type doc. Fuck that dude). It was hard to see my buddy suffering while the staff ignored him thinking he was just playing games trying to get opiates, that's why I snuck him a few 80's.
He wasn't in ICU or anything but had cracked ribs and torn ACL I believe. If it's real serious they have to give you enough to keep you comfortable I would think. What I would do is grimace in pain 24/7 until they just got tired of it and hooked you up. I didn't mean to scare you or anything but that shit does fuck up any scripts you'll ever get for moderate pain. But you're right, benefits outweigh the consequences. Good for you aus, I hope things just keep getting better for you.

I always hear about these narcotic contracts, had no idea though they make you sign one for bupe. I've been to 3 different sub doctors over the years and never once signed anything remotely related to that. Maybe its just florida and the lax attitude of the doctors. All in all congrats, buprenorphine has done wonders for me, after leaving the methadone clinic last summer I was severely depressed and my body never felt the same. Getting back on subutex was truly a god send.

basiclly, it was agreeing to the terms and conditions of maintenance.
dont sell your medication, no benzos, alcohol, drugs in general.
have clean UA's and shit like that.
