Kids selected from a random pool of students, were wired up to an array of mobile testing equipment that connected them to PET scanners, CT scanners and were recorded while going round and round, some but not all while holding their breath. These recordings were compared to older addicts that were in treatment ( inpatient criminal justice ) for long term addictions to the major " narcotic classes of drugs. The classes of narcotics were Marijuana, Opiates and the stimulants Meth and Cocaine.
In shocking results the " patterns were almost indistinguishable.'' Dr. Justsayno a leading Japanese addiction expert, had the following to say when asked for conclusions. " It is blatantly beyond a doubt what many in our field have hypothesized for a long time. These kids are getting high just like on narcotics by doing these types of behaviors. Without a doubt I believe further tests will prove that kids that are prone to these deviant behaviors are the same ones that without intervention will go on to become narcotic addicts."
In a related comment. A high level member of the Justice Department who wished to remain anonymous stated that " In the near future I envision this being a huge plus for the advocates of privately owned neighborhood prison companies. The implications are huge. Tests of kids as young as 5 or 6 can predict the amounts of the neighborhood prisons that will need to house these sub par folks. The benefits of incarcerating these bad seeds close to their families are numerous. The good folks can have decent jobs as correctional officers! The loved ones of the addicts can save on gas by locating the facilities right in the same neighborhoods as where the kids come from. It is a win, win situation for everyone." When asked about the prospects of the addicts breaking the cycle of addiction, the DOJ employee stated that " Everyone knows once a Junkie always a Junkie."
