So, little bit of a story, last night I was pulled over for "swerving slightly". At the time I was smoking a bowl of weed or had actually just finished one. I have a nice stash spot in my car, and when I saw those flashing red and blues I immediately hid the bag of weed. The pipe was in the back seat of my car, under my seat. I couldn't reach it, so I just let it stay there and rolled down the windows, knowing it stank of weed. I then remembered I had used syringes on the back seat floorboards as well. The syringes had only ever been used for suboxone, though.
Officer pulls me out of the car, asks if anything is in it, and I just went ahead and told him. I find it's always easier to cooperate with police, especially knowing he could smell the weed in my car. So I told him that there was a pipe and told him how I used to be an addict and put the needles in my car from my house to throw them away (the truth). I didn't mention that these needles were ever used for heroin, nor did I mention that they were for suboxone. So officer finds needles and pipe, continues searching car looking for anything else. He asks me where the weed is at and I made up some bullshit about how I hardly ever smoke and I didn't have any pot and just that bowl.
Officer finishes searching car, can't find anything else, and comes back to me and starts asking me if I had ever been arrested before. I tell him yes, and how I am on probation. He then says "so a heroin charge would really fuck you right now". He then proceeds to threaten me with a charge for heroin if I didn't give him some names of people. I told him that I have been out of the game for a while and didn't still have any dealers numbers. So he asks me names of people who sold weed. If I didn't say anything, he said, I would go to jail right now with a heroin charge. If I gave him some names, he would let me go right then. I told him that I didn't really know who sold anymore, and that I hardly ever smoke because my girlfriend is on drug court and doesn't like when I smoke around her. He asks me where I got the pot I was just smoking at and I told him I took it from my girlfriends mom.
Officer starts telling me how I am going to go to jail for a heroin charge. I never once thought that those needles had never been used for heroin before, or that the fact the possession of syringes probably would just be a paraphernalia charge at best. All I could think was "fuck I don't want a charge while on probation". So I told him I would give him some names of people who I knew used to sell. I gave him some fake names, he asks me what my girlfriends moms name is (where I said I got the pot), and I give him a different first name and her maiden name. He tells me if this doesn't lead to anything I will be receiving a charge for the stuff he found. He then writes me a ticket for failure to maintain single lane and sends me on my way.
My question is, obviously those names aren't going to lead to anything, so what are my chances of him eventually charging me with anything. Also, what can he charge me with? Possession of paraphernalia for the pot pipe, for sure, but what about the needles? No heroin was ever used in them, and I never told him what they were used for. When I said I used to be an addict it was assumed that I used them for heroin and I never explained otherwise. Is shooting up a drug I am prescribed illegal? Are possession of syringes illegal at all? Sorry for the story.
TL;DR: I got pulled over and cop found weed pipe and two syringes used only for suboxone. What trouble can I get in?
