Default Everyone has a special symptom

In withdrawals our symptoms run the gamut from sweating, to shitting, to vomit , to phlegm
People in my clinic had a discussion about which symptom seemed to harangue them the most- it was interesting some people only sweat and had leg trouble, some only shit and couldn't sleep, anyone care to share what your symptoms are? Do they differ with different opiates?
mine are sweating and terrible nonstop constant sneezing

That feeling when your stomach starts digesting again and it feels all slimey and full of snails. The muscle feeling where your like constantly kinda sore, but want to stretch but can't move but can't stay still. Knees hurt and feel like they're expanding or something, just pain man,

The worst for me is my blood pressure and heart rate go up up so much, terrible anxiety/panic feelings, a deep restlessness in my muscles that makes me want to stretch, but stretching brings no relief, the feeling that something inside me is trying desperately to escape but can't get out, and of course all over pain, not to mention the pain I'm RXd meds for gets about 1000x worse.

Those are my worst, everything else is tolerable compared to those symptoms. If it weren't for all those, I would probably be able to sleep in W/D.

I never get nausea or bad shits when in W/D. Although eating is difficult simply because it seems repulsive and I don't feel like making the effort to chew and swallow.

The sweats and anxiety run the gauntlet on me.

    start:
As soon as my stomach feels warm
    i start to get nervous
    then i sweat
    then i get the chills
    goto start

I usually dont start getting the shits til almost a week, maybe 3-4 days max, esp if i am using lope. but even low t1/2 drugs, it takes a few days for the soft serve ice cream to flow
back pain is pretty bad, lack of energy is probably the worse symptom behind chills and anxiety
    then i get more nervous

    Vomit, by far.

I get everything else (shits, RLS, coldsweats, insomnia, bone/muscle ache) but vomiting every few minutes is just terrible. The first few ones are ok, cause I've still got something to throw up. But when it gets to vomiting nothing but stomach acid, it gets rough. After late day 1/early day 2 I won't be able to drive cause of the constant vomiting. Sucks finding someone to drive you when you're sick, got money, and know where the dope is at.

after about 20 hours I start with the yawning and the stretching and the sneezing and the sweating, uncomfortable but tolerable. Then after about 30 hours the horrid siatic (sp?) nerve pain and the RLS start in that and the total lack of sleep are what push me over the edge. If I am in WD It is guaranteed I will not sleep for the first 86 hours for sure, and then only for 1-2 hours. It usually takes a full week before I can get 4-6 hours of uninterupted sleep, and until I get that sleep the siatica and temperature regulation does not stop. I am constantly nauseous and usually start to vomit on day 3, the shitting thing is the last of all symptoms. I hate WD, and it scares me I will never be able to get off of mmt.

Like I said, I can not sleep, so after the 3rd night of no sleep I start rationalizing all the reasons to start using again. I feel like a hamster in a wheel. MMT has probably saved my life, I am just afraid I am going to be chained to it forever.

Sorry if this was a bit redundant. It's early and my dose hasn't kicked in

I've been around the block long enough to know that each time I kick I get different symptoms to be the most irritating.

Symptoms that I can rely on are perceived temperature changes (your actual temperature doesn't vary much, I'm told), sweating, anxiety, depression, involuntary limb kicks or shudders & a particularly cruel form of insomnia where I can't sleep but am exhausted. My eyes will slowly close then they ping open.

That is the WEIRDEST symptom.. it only happens to me in spells and a hot shower usually takes care of it but that feeling where you cant swallow or even inhale as the "hair" triggers a wretching episode.. *shiver* terrible

I usually have a gambit of cold sweats, diarrhea (no direct vomiting though, other than the "hair wretching"..), extreme fatigue, mood dysphoria but instead of RLS in my extremities I feel the "twitch/kick" from the nape of my neck to the center of my shoulder blades. Its drives me MAD.

Another really annoying symptom is I can literally "feel" my brain click on and start chattering. It reminds me of a car starter that idles and stalls and keeps trying to turn on again. I don't know how to explain it but opiates smooth out the intuitive/emotional landscapes of my normal function that usually overwhelms me.

When I am in w/d I am totally incapacitated sometimes by this recharge into the "matrix" of my head. Memory, sensation, comprehension, inspiration, connect-the-dots, overwhelmed, anxiety, FML, MAKE IT STOP.

Before I was using heavily I somewhat thrived on this sensation, but I translated the anxiety reaction into an adrenal one somehow.. so instead of it leading me to "hide in the bed, kill me now" it was more like GO! GO! NOW! AGAIN! MORE! BETTER! FASTER! AWESOME!

I still haven't quite managed to unravel that one yet. I fear I will be on maintenance until I do.. even the bupe keeps that impetus at bay.

A lot of the symptoms mentioned above apply to me as well. I think many of them everyone generally gets, not all though.

    Personally my symptoms are:
Runny nose - constantly running can't just grab a tissue must have a box of tissues.

Restless Legs - I think this is the most severe for me. It is like they are half numb and sometimes tingle. I try to stretch but it makes no difference.

Loss of appetite - I pretty much have to force myself to eat. I will sit there and chew and chew and chew...swallow, then its like do I really have to take another bite? I then repeat chew, chew, chew... another bite? DAMN IT!

Body temp - Cold sweats. Freezing one minute, sweating the next.

Anxiety - My anxiety is through the roof. I pace sometimes. Extreme panic attacks to the point one time my GF thought I was having a seizure, as my whole body was shaking, teeth chattering, you could feel my pulse anywhere on my body.

Shits - It takes a while for them to come on but once they do it's game over! Its like I can't leave the bathroom. There was one time where I thought I should go out and get myself some "depends" just in case I had a leakage problem.

I think I listed all of my general symptoms but of course I may have left something out. I don't get sick as in pukey sick but, I do feel very sick!

The first fent crash caused this reaction in RJ and myself. I think it saved our lives as well.

That is so me... and then I feel so much sicker, probably what used to be my first symptom before it became permanent. I wonder WTF I've done to myself. Reading this thread makes me think fuck, I never know when any of this is going to hit me, and I'm not out of shit, I'm actually as fine as I get. I think I may be subconsciously excepting this as normal to some degree, just treat the symptom.

I've been on MMT for seven months now. I've read somewheres that the mind blocks out the memory of pain and sufferings.
I find this to be true...

But it's all coming back to me now.

It begins with massive amounts of anxiety, followed by unimaginable amounts of sweat, pouring out of every single pore... My shirt sticks to my back.
Cigarettes smell and taste like shit. And seem to add even more to the effects of anxiety (probably cuz of it's stimulant properties).
All of this is followed by wave after wave of dreadfull memories and emotions that have since been suppressed by the opi's.
I swear, I become a complete marshmellow... This 6ft 1in, 210 lb pile of mush.

When I suddenly feel the urge to call my mom and cry into her ear like a man-child, I know that I better cop a fuckton of preferably Valium or Klonopin and some Lope.... I then pray to the God that I'm usually certain, doesn't even exist.

All of this occurs in a matter of 10-14 hrs after the last jab of H, Oxy, dilly. And 36-48 hrs if it's the 'Done...

    The Dude Abides.....

If Water were Morphine, and I was a Duck... I'd Swim to the Bottom, and Never Come Up.

The smell of cigs, yeah, it's awful (but I still smoke them anyway, probably hoping to somehow revoke the feeling I got when smoking one after a hit)..

For me it's the sweating and general stomach pains/nausea (although I rarely vomit). But insomnia is the absolute worst, no matter how much you try, NOTHING will make you comfortable, a constant electric buzzing in my legs is driving me crazy, haunting memories put me down, doom and gloom is fencing me in.

And ofcourse there's the sneezing and horrible backpain. And a general feeling of not being well, clothes hurt my skin, noise is too much, sunlight I can not stand.

After having kicked methadone for so many times but not feeling much better after 8 months I gave up.

Lucky nobody here is on Ketogan (ketobemidone - big in Scandinavia). It's the only opioid that can be fatal after sudden withdrawal from high-doses. I presume it's because of it's NMDA activity rather than opioid activity... still, nasty!

My first sign of withdrawal is yawning, then general aches, then my bones/joints start to hurt, then I start shitting everywhere, and after a very long time the vomiting comes, like at day 3.

I'm on bupe now, with heroin it was different, the diarhea/vomiting would always come first, I never really get the cold sweats.

The worse part about my withdrawals is the joint/bone pain.

    EDIT: sleep? ahaha.
    The anesthetic never set in!

Restless legs/restlessness, insomnia, lowerback/stomach pains, boredom, depression. I hate knowing Im not gonna sleep even a minute for like a week knowing I get no break from the misery and monotony of sitting in bed watching TV 24hrs a day sick, I know getting up and outside and getting some exercise helps sometimes but that seems so impossible when your in the midst of it. Oh and I cant get stoned during WD either, weed or jwh makes my WD symptoms so much worse which is a bummer because I always want to smoke so it will calm my stomach a bit

I used to smoke bout a pack a day and quit 2 years ago about the same time I stopped shooting dope daily. Just thinking of what the cig smoke smells like turns my stomach. I wish the thought of the smell of heroin made me sick instead of making my mouth water and hair stand on end.

I've never had the restless limb syndrome but for me the hot/cold flashes is the worst. I hate how it makes water poor out of every body orifice. One of the main reasons I love opies, the drying effect it has.
