Buprenorphine and DXM

I did a couple searches and found one thread from back in 2007 that talked about this subject but nobody replied. So I figured I'd start a new thread instead of resurrecting the old one.

Does anybody have any information or experiences on how the two interact? I haven't used DXM since I've been on subs the last few months.

I'm sure there isn't much interaction except for decreased respiratory, which I'm not too concerned about as I've taken DXM with other opiates before. I'm more concerned with the suboxone blocking the DXM. I'd rather not waste my money on the RoboGels if the effects were going to be absent or diminished.

BTW, I plan on taking a 3rd plateau dose which for me is around 500-600mg.

very little interaction if at all.
bupe seems that way with all other drugs,
hit or miss tho it does seem somewhate bupe dose dependent.
take a little less sub prior to dosing dxm.
you also may want to work up to a 3rd plat dxm dose slowly while on bupe,
it has at times somewhat muted my experience,
and sometimes seems to give it a different 'edge' than dxm alone.

obviously than knows his dxm. unrelated i will say that high dose suboxone does not mix with mdma at all. u will black out. this has happened to me and my gf multiple times. u will roll ballls but at end of night u wont have much recollection of silly things u did. dont ask me why...

I appreciate the responses.

I've been taking around 2-3mgs a day, so I'll try to get by with 1-1.5mgs a couple days before and the day of my DXM dose. The only problem I might have is working my way up, I've done it in the past but it never seems as intense as if I took it all at once obviously.

I'm most likely going to buy 600mgs(2 bottles of robogels) so I'll try taking 120mgs at first and see if I feel anything from that, then take the other 480mgs. That should still put me in a nice 3rd plat trip especially since its been a while since my last trip.

I'll let you guys know how it goes!

just be kinda cautious,
even expereinced users can get totally pwnd by dxm at times.

If 600mg isn't enough I can always try again after a few days. Also, I know you said the sub sometimes gave dex a different 'edge'. By that do you mean it potentiated it or just made it have a different feel?

If it doesn't potentiate it then 600mgs shouldn't be too much, but i definitely know what you mean about it pwning experienced dexers.

nah, i wouldnt say potentiated...

on sub ive actually felt nothing from +500mg doses for hours dosed another 500, another 500... get some weed hours later still, then wham, one puff of weed kicked all 1500mg into full speed 8 hrs after first ingestion.

bupe WILL effect metabolism to an extent, but there are so few people i know who do both all i can offer is unqualified speculation.

just take it slow, id add weed for sure as its a good potentiator/smoother for dex.

i have had subs add a sense of added 'anxiety(for lack of better word) to a dex trip...
just remeber to keep the sub dose low, and dont have white grapefruit juice or tagamet in your system as it will compound to alter the dxm/dxo ratio in your blood making your trip pretty unpredictable.

I wish I could smoke some weed but I get tested by my sub doc and he straight up drops people for 1 dirty UA, even for weed.

be aware,
i have had DXM pop posi for PCP as well as methadone(of all things!)
...if you dose dxm close enough to yer UA bve sure to tell them you have very recently(like that morning) taken some cough and cold pills...

i was denied dosing because of it.

I've heard of DXM showing up positive for opiates in general before, but methadone? very weird.

This is almost undoubtedly because of Serotonin Syndrome. Be more careful man. I had an incident one night involving MDMA and DXM among many other things and I stupidly catapulted MYSELF of all people into Serotonin Syndrome. Luckily it wasn't too overdone and I just ended up with Elvis Legs all night. Again, exercise caution.

dont take the triple C's, the inactives in it are nasty and risky. get robo gel caps or nothing

I took Thans advice and found that the best DXM interaction came with weed.
300mg of dxm and a couple hits of herb made for a very pleasant Halloween.
