i'd love to ask my doc this question, but i'm reaaaaaal hesitant...

"IF mmj were to be ok'd in our state, would you write for it?"

pk has posted excellent info on it's benefits, and i'd go in armed with a copy to fortify my case, but i sure as hell would hate to set myself for a steady round of ua's...

he's a pretty straight laced farm boy, however he's also been very good about upping my dose as time's gone by ---

What's happened here is that certain doctors "specialize" in mmj "referrals" (it's not prescribed in CA or MI, it's referred) at around $100-$150 a pop.

If you are complaining about stress, tension, trouble sleeping or eating, this particular doctor can give you the referral and you're done.

If, otoh, you wish to treat a preexisting condition, you'll have to sign a release (as you would if you went to PM or a specialist, or changed MDs) and he'd get your records and give you the referral.

It seems to me the former method eliminates a lot of hassle (one friend experienced quite a delay and his temp card expired!)

And if you are concerned about your doctor's reaction (esp w/r/t how it might affect his disposition to treat your pain with opioids), this might be the best way to go.

Bottom line: mmj is used a lot like alcohol was used 100 years ago, although mmj is safer and IMO more efficacious in treating those minor disorders.

with all the juicy goodness good weed adds to opiate maintenance, i'm just in it for the added efficacy of said maintenance...

when i burn, i can cut my dosing by 35-50%--- i am much more motivated, get more active, and actually have better mental clarity, but with heightened activity comes heightened pain levels...

i'm looking for better quality of life--- and weed helps me with that...


as of now, our states do not recognize mmj...

i'm curious if HE recognizes it...

Yea what would be the point? To see if he's "cool" with it? Definately not worth knowing if you could get drug tests as a result.
