ah this was briefly brought up in another thread but not much
is it really bad to hit your neck (iv) if you know for sure where NOT to hit
and make sure you don't miss cuz it looks like a fuckin golf ball (and its gross)
cuz all these little junkies would always say "holy shit you shouldn't do that"
and i'd say why, a vein is a vein is a vein right,
we're already shooting up coke here, why not the neck?
i know about the "black curtains" you can get from shooting coke in your neck
but what about heroin or pills or whatever?

btw this is just curiosity, i'm not gonna go stick my neck no matter what i hear
cuz even if i had decided to start shootin again, i've been off for over a year
so my "easy access" arm/hand/foot veins are all back in working order (well some of em at least)

so... what's up with neck shots? more dangerous, or the same junkie shit?

All IV drug use is potentially dangerous,but shooting in the neck presents added problems.

I am not an iv user but I have had an iv in my neck (jugular I think) during a surgery. It was crazy he did it so fast I didn't know what hit me!

My jug used to pop huge and I hit it all the time, for years and years it's all I used... I was always the first one done if I had a mirror..

A doc told me once that the main problem is that it's just closer to your heart, the shot is pretty concentrated when it hits your heart and endo is more likely, along with the risk of say local infection/abscess and then it's proximity to your heart, airway and brain (if you have one).

Better to lose an arm than your neck.. Flesh eating bacteria in dope out here on the left side, but I can't say the threat of that ever stopped me when the vein was good..
