Opiates in the Workplace (Managed Care Magazine)

    http://www.managedcaremag.com/supple..._workplace.pdf

Thought some maybe some of you may like to read this pdf about opiate addiction/dependence in the workplace, how the managed care industry views it and what programs they feel work. I haven't even read all the way through it, just kinda glossed over it. ePinions?

..... found that when it got *really* bad, I'd cop, and fuck all that detoxing, whether I'm eating carrots and brown rice, or vodka and cough drops, I've learned only one sure thing about detoxing:

Wow. One of things I read in that report was that for the last several years, the number of people who "misuse" an opiate for the first time exceeded the number of people who used marijuana for the first time.

That blows the shit out of the "gateway drug theory"....People are jumping straight in to abusing their painkillers, skipping getting high altogether.

Sociologically, that would indicate that we haven't been trying to "expand our consiousness" for a while. We're just trying to kill the pain.

With the way the economy is going, I bet there will be plenty of pain to kill.

I know this was posted a very long time ago..but marijuana never "expanded my mind". All it ever did for me was make me hungry and have no clue what the fuck was going on. In my opinion, opiates aren't just for killing pain..
    I don't feel,
    And it feels great.
