Found legal ephedrine??

But, @ a legit, long standing retailer here I found OTC ephedrine pills - only 25mg each - but NO ID, no logs... crazy.

Also mixed w/ something like guafanisen or somethin... can't remember.

Anyway, to extract the PURE ephedrine... like a CWE possibly

An actual store... in a mall. A 'Health Product' retailer. I couldn't believe it, but it definitely is listed in the ingredients as well as plastered on the box.

That's cool I guess, not really into stimulants myself, but i actually kind of enjoy pseudoephedrine - it gives me a slight mood lift and energy without making me feel tweaked.

I guess all I can say is buy them, don't steal them. i don't think you would, so sorry if i offended you, but the worst thing would be for somebody to start stealing it and mess up the ephedrine source for everyone else.

if its the only alkaloid in the solution then a acid/base extraction would work pretty ok..

But hey.. ephredine sucks for eating.. its best for cooking..

Ephedrine is OTC in any drugstore in the U.S. -- the catch is that it's forumlated with guifenisen, but that's not a big deal.

Bronkaid and Primatene Tablets are the two brands I know of.

EDIT: IME is IS LOGGED just like pseudoephedrine, though... at least in NY. That's no biggie though.

I know they still sell mini-thins at gas stations, because I see them sitting on the counter, but I'm not sure what's in them now. It used to be 25mg ephedrine and 50mg of caffeine I think, or the other way around.

If you want just plain ephedrine, I know some health food stores sell Ma Huang (sp?), which is an herbal form of ephedrine, meaning ephedrine is in it, like cocaine would be in coca tea. I've never tried it though. I didn't think ephedrine was that great.

I guess they could have. I don't go to a lot of health food stores. The last time I saw it was probably in 2003. It could very well be illegal now too. Not sure.

From what I understand, each state has their own rules, as well as each county, city, township, etc. I live in a large metro area and the law varies wildly when I drive down a main road that intersects about 5 towns. I can hit a CVS in each town (stores are about 1-2 miles apart) and have a different "rule" to follow in each. Plus, some share their record books and others don't. (sharing info varies with other places in the town and with other places in the state - it's really pretty useless if you ask me. I haven't seen any less meth on the streets because of these laws. Just more Mexican meth.)

I have heard that guafinesin (also known as Mucinex) is hard to extract, but that might just have been propaganda.

I miss the days of being able to buy Sudafed OTC without feeling like the gestapo is watching and waiting to pounce. I have sinus issues and the stuff just happens to WORK. Every time I see Sudafed at discount type places like Big Lots or dollar stores I always check, just in case some *real* stuff has slipped through.

The places like Costco that used to sell the gigantic packages don't have it anymore, just the fake stuff, because local laws prohibit anyone buying that much at a time.

Ma Huang can still be bought as an herb; it's only forbidden by law to be included in a supplement for weight loss (because those are what people were OD'ing on like crazy a few years ago).

Why bother though, when the isolated alkaloid is freely available at any pharmacy? Freely being a relative term... you have to show ID (and be over 18.... which I think the vast majority of us on 'phile are) and sign. Who really cares though... plenty of people with asthma buy ephedrine and use it instead of getting an Rx for salbutamol. Or a glucocorticoid steroid ... I hate those drugs; I was forced to take one (budesonide) as a kid and it had horrible side effects and a w/d syndrome (adrenal insufficiency). Budesonide is an analog of prednisone and hits the same receptors / has the same side effects and requires tapering.

ephedrine is available in many drugstores and super markets as an OTC asthma med, usually mixed with guafenisin. you can get pure ephedrine sulfate online.
