Anyone know about Adipex/Phentermine?

I've got a friend who is getting rid of some Adipex/Phentermine. Does this have any good qualities to it? Does anyone know what to expect? What if SWIM was on bloop pressure meds and took some? Any info is appreciated.

I've taken plenty of adipex, usually out of desperation, boredom or both. Usually esascerbated both. Feels a little dirty but you might get a ritalin type lift if that's what you need. I'm pretty positive that this medicine is contraindicated for anyone with heart probs, high blood pressure and panic attacks. If anything it increased my benzo use trying to come off the shit. I'm sure you know this is the still legal half of the diet drug combo fen-phen...

It's a shitty monamine releasing stimulant. It has pretty much the same mechanism of action of amphetamines, but has worse peripheral side effects and is weaker.

Adderall, Focalin, and Ritalin are CII, for comparison.

And I agree with that scheduling. Phentermine isn't as good as the others.

I'd rate phentermine slightly above ritalin, still pretty dirty but I've had some fun with it. I found a jar of Duramine (slow release phenterminr) a couple of years back and could catch a nice buzz off 30-60mg.

About adderall, I don't know why its CII....its such a hassle for me to pick up my script each month.

I hear it works wonders. I've seen some swollen girls lose ALOT of weight and say that it was cause of the adipex. I think it's just like most stims. Raises your metabolism by tweaking you out and you're too nervous to eat or be hungry.

It works the same way other monoamine releasing / reuptake inhibiting stimulants do on appetite.

Think about how adderall makes food seem gross. Phentermine does the same thing, but isn't as fun.

I personally would never rate phentermine above MPH, but I may be biased because I take the enatiomerically pure dexmethylphenidate, which is cleaner and 2x more potent than regular MPH.

personally, I'd rate it far below ritalin. and ritalin doesn't rate that high. I found phentermine to have zero recreational value, though others have disagreed.

I like MPH the most out of the pharm stims. I think it's cuz i'm not a big fan of stims and MPH is pretty weak and comes in small doses but i do like 10-20mg's if i get sleepy while drinking. MPH doesn't make me jittery, nervous feeling like adderall and actually has some euphoria IMO

The enatiomerically pure d-methylphenidate is even less jittery / nervous. Very clean drug IMO... great CNS:PNS stimulation ratio. Better than racemic MPH by a pretty good degree.

I also kind prefer the somewhat shorter duration, since the "comedown" period is short -- longer half life uppers like Adderall have a more protracted comedown period, which is difficult to tolerate IMO.

I think I also prefer / respond better to DNRI reuptake inhibitors ((d)-methylphenidate, cocaine types) than DN releasers (amphetamine types). The former are less likely to cause the negative side effects of stims for me. And I very very rarely abuse my stimulant drug. It just helps me feel more motivated every day at therapeutic doses.

The brand name for d-MPH is Focalin and Focalin XR.

MPH actually has two stereocenters (is a diastereomer), but only the threo isomer is used in medicine -- the erythro isomer has no clinical value. So Ritalin is really d,l-threo-MPH and focalin is d-threo-MPH.

I love a large oral dose of adderall, but i'm always disappointed when I IV it. Exact opposite with ritalin. It gives me a very pleasant rush that I just dont get will amphetamines (I know, I know, ritalin is one of the worst pills to IV. don't try this at home)
