Amphetamines and st. John's Wort - any interaction

Can any of you brainiacs or scienticians inform me of any possible interactions? A have a vague idea SJW works on the dopamine system as well as seratonin so there could well be some interaction, I'm sure I'm not gonna kill myself but it would suck to waste drugs. What abuot suboxone with the combo? Anyone? Thanks.

^^ Ahh thanks but that's why I've been taking the SJW. Seems to help the buzz a bit but since I know SJW interacts with all many other drugs I was specifically wondeering if it interacts with amphetamines at all. Of course I tried last night anyway, got pretty high but I guessss I don't have enough experience with crystal meth to guage any differences.

I could see three possible interactions:

1)potentiation ... SJW may make the amp dose seem stronger because one of the compounds in SJW is a mild reversible MAO-b inhibitor

2)increased possibility of toxicity ... because of the MAO-b inhibition thing. Amps already inhibit MAO in high doses, and hence their own metabolism and dopamine's metabolism... SJW would potentiate that, and potentiate oxidative stess. This doesn't mean you absolutely can't combine them... this isn't a nonselective irreversible MAOI like phenelzine... just be cautious with your doses.

3)shortened duration of action. SJW has compounds that haven't yet been identified that strongly induce one of the CYP enzymes and moderately induce most of them.
