Which has more alcohol...

A 40 oz. bottle of Steel Reserve at 8.2%

OR

A 750ml bottle of Yellow Jacket Chardonnay at 13.5% ???

I know somebody here, who is much smarter then I, will be able to help me out with this. I'm a high school drop-out.

alcohol is by volume. so one oz of your steel reserve is weaker than one oz of chardonnay.

the YJC has 101mL of alcohol.
Pretty much a toss-up to me.
To compare alcohol content, just make sure you're comparing ounces to ounces, or mL to mL. Then just multiply the volume (oz or mL) by alcohol %.
So: there are 29.57 mL in an ounce. 40oz X 29.57 = 1182mL of beer.
Then, 1182 X .082 = 97 mL of alcohol.
Percentages are expressed by moving the decemal place two to the left. So, 13.5%=.135

I took that into account. Obviously, if there were equal volumes, the chardonay would be stronger.

I'm always trying to figure out how to get the most alcohol in me for the least amount of money.

MadDog and Wild Irish Rose have never let me down. Oddly named 40's of Malt Liquor are ok too. Wild Cat, King Cobra, Laser, etc. But, pound for pound (and the ability to get it down) I tend to go with "the Beast"!!! That's right: Milwaukee's Best Ice. $5 and some change for a 12 pk... and a horrible case of the "screamin' meemee's" the next mornin'. Don't stray too far from that toilet now... cuz the Beast is here to collect his dues. Ante up.

And if you can drink that Steel Reserve, I tip my hat to ya Sir! That beer's so thick I had to chew it to get it down. You're truly Herculean. (<--Firefox says that's an actual word!! Hahaha, who woulda thunk it)

I don't normally drink alcohol but in the past 2 weeks I kicked a heroin habit and then a Klonopin habit CT. The past few days with absolutely nothing have been brutal. I figured drinking a less-than-hangover-producing amount of alcohol and getting a few hours of sleep might be better than what I've been going through.

Yesterday I was totalling almost 100 hours of awake time and 2 hours 45 minutes of sleep since Saturday. Don't tell me that doesn't add up, all I know is I've been extremely sleep deprived. I was starting to experience auditory hallucinations today, hearing things. I've always had some insomnia and anything that can interrupt my sleep most certainly will. This has been a bit much though...

I have to be better off with a bottle of wine and a good 4 hours of sleep, just to keep my sanity... wouldn't you all agree?

I was drunk all day, which I never minded in the first place, then could get up to 4hrs sleep (I was drinking $9 bottles of Vodka or Spiced Rum. (Less pissing.)) And I only got a hangover once... (the last day) because I would wake up and start drinking again. Hair o' the dog that bit ya, ya know.

Also, hope you didn't think I was poking fun atcha... I seriously do drink the Beast regularly. The way I see it, I don't drink it cuz it tastes good... I want to get fuct up! So either some Bud Weiser for twice as much and half the alcohol, or Beast Ice for $5 (and change) and 5.9%? Plus I'm broke all the time

last two nights.
Usually makes it worse,
this time it helped.

great job papa! keep up the good work it is inspiring!! iv'e been fighting the methadont and can barely stand it 4-6 wks ago got down to 14 mlgs. and just couldn't take it anymore w/out sleep and was posting and making phone calls and have zero recollection of them.(after a week of that i got some benzo's things got even worse) i got scared so went back up to 40-45

deep down i am wondering when imma kick altogether then maybe take a shot or two a wk of h.(for sleep and sanity) then stop altogether if this is at all possible. i just think h is easier to kick and safer only thing that scares me is the cops.

Kickn methadone is next to impossible without something to replace it! It's agonizing and I feel for you.. Consider getting something to help that kick. H or Pills and then once most of the Mdone is outta you, you will still have to kick but it's much easier to kick pain killers than mdone.. IMHO

well it's almost 11am PST and Papa hasn't posted back to this, my hopes are that something worked and the man finally got some damn sleep!


Best of luck to you bud, I still think it would be worthwhile to get some Kratom on hand, help keep the edge of a bit, though, kicking the Benzos, I'm not sure what, if anything, helps with that.

I'll keep you in my thoughts, you're a good guy and I hope you make it through this.
