Stick to the Script ?
I just left the ER with a script for 60 2MG generic Hydro's .
Mallinckrodts , to be exact. I am sure I could go back to the pharmacy and get the brand names if i need to , but am I good with what i have ?
I unknowingly let them fill it generically.
So , stick to the Script , or flip it ?

I don't think it would raise any red flags, except for the red flag in your wallet, so go ahead and do it.
Pharmacists know that there isn't any difference in namebrand vs. generics, it only us junkies and pillheads that make a big deal out of it.
Just say that you prefer that the namebrand works better for you. You don't even need to explain.

Wouldn't know bro... I mean, I know that you have to IV those, but wether the originals or generics are better, I don't know.I'm pretty sure there's a helpful junkie who does know right around the corner though.
EDIT: You know something... Call a pharmacy and ask. Ask for the pharmacist, tell him you got some dillies, and you wanted to know which ones are better to mainline, the generics or the originals. Make sure to use that exactl word: Mainline, record it it, and post a link to it here.
If you post it to youtube, it'll be a viral sensation in no time, for sure!

I am assuming you are talking about hydromorphone (dilaudid).
In that case, all generic dilaudid are pretty much the same as the brand ones as far as IV goes. I have IV'ed pretty much every different kind of dilaudid there is, and they all worked well. There might be some slight difference in terms of how much filler, etc is left over in the spoon, but you will get high off any kind of dilaudid.
In fact, I'm not sure which ones are the brand name ones. I have had the 54-403 ones, the mallies, the "K's" and the abbott ones. Also the triangle 8mg ones which come with the "a" abbott logo or an "M" on them.
Of all these many different types of dilaudid, they all worked fine for IV.

Hell, I WISH I could take back those sorry-ass Mallie's I got a week or so ago. Got to the car and lo and behold I had Mallie's instead of Watsons. damn, damn, damn! btw, I"m talking about hydrocodone, not dilaudid. I don't know if there's a difference b/w the 2 on those, but you can bet your ass there is a HUGE difference in lortab.

I hear ya. I get the same end result as far as pain control and whatnot from the two different brands, but the Watsons seem to kick in quicker and harder. Must be due to the fillers and binders and all that nonsense in there.
I got my refill script from the doc office yesterday and was scrambling around to get it filled before the end of my lunch break. Only place available had the Mallies. Oh well. Not the end of the world. They were still the first pills or opiates in general that I had in almost two weeks.

Yea, wow... how did ya get those from an ER, that is an amazing ER score. At first i thought you were talking about HYDROcodone and i was like why on earth does he wanna bang Hydrocodone, than as i read the thread i realized you were talking about Dillies. I didn't pay attention to what section it was in, if i had i would have realized you were talking about dillies lol.
And ya all sales are final. No pharmacy is going to trade pills with you. I mean I'm sure there is some pharmacist out there that would do it but that is highly rare!!

Not true, there are some types that gel up. I don't remember which ones they were, but I have gotten some on 2 different occasions that gelled up when they touched water.
However, the mallin ones are OK, if I remember correctly. They should work fine. But, even if they don't, there is no way the pharmacy is gonna let you return them. You would have a better chance figuring out how to turn the gel into an IVable substance than trying to get the pharmacy to return pills.

You'll have to make due with what you got. Pharmacies don't do returns or exchanges on any scripts.

story about airline lost my luggage and with it , my meds and I've been here for 4 days going through withdrawal.
Didn't work at all on the first ER. The second one , the guy was like " Dilaudid is not a drug we write for in the ER , sorry" . Then he came back with a script for it and said something struck him as genuine.
Nice guy , really nice guy. I feel like a junky scumbag. Especially as I'm writing this , glorifying the whole thing.

Also , I just got back from the Pharmacy. I exchanged the prescription for brand name. No problem really. I just said that I was never asked if I wanted name brand.
So yeah , that part was very easy. Surprised me.

When I see hydro I think hydrocodone... so am I supposed to take that an an abbreviation for hydroMORPHONE? (Dilaudid, right?)
Now I get what all the fuss was about. Anyway, I don't think hydrocodone comes in less than 5 mg anyway.
Is that a weird way to abbreviate it? Don't people just say dillies or something? And 60 from an ER. Call me a cab. Or call me anything....
And I am really surprised they took them back (but as for knowing they were generic, it was probably on the paper stapled OUTSIDE of the bag).

Ok, IF the bottle was one of the bottles from the manufacturer, they will take that as a trade as long as it is still sealed. (I just verified with my friend who is a Pharmacy Manager at a local chain pharm in Az).
He (OP) said the bottle was sealed.... I somtimes get my script of 100 fiorinal's in the sealed manufacturer bottle...so I believe that to be his case.

The part about that kind of score is a little hard to believe...but not impossible.
