Research Chemicals?

Aside from the fact that these chemicals bear little research in possibl dangers and effects, SWIM woud like to ask a few things. Has anyone here ever purchased research chemicals online? Do you think SWIm should take the chance purchasing online because they are not technically illegal in the U.S.? I've heard of online vendors getting shut down and purchasers going to court even though it is not really made illegal yet in any way. I guess you could still go to court if they felt a need.

I've ordered them before(amt) for a friend, before you do order some have a look at your state's analogue statutes, you might still be able to get in trouble even if the substanced isn't outlawed.

I've ordered research chemicals before, dabbling in 2C-I, 2C-E, and 5-meo-DMT. The place I order from ships the chemicals very discreetly, and it is unlikely that they would be seized, or get you into any trouble. Worth trying, but I've found most research chemicals to have far too many negative, physical side effects (mental side effects are sort of the point, seeing as most RCs are psychedelics =D ), such as muscle tremors, even physical pain, and if you want to talk constipation and gastrointestinal discomfort, well, you have come to the right place. Like I said though, they are worth trying, but if I was interested in psychedelics I'd much prefer psilocybin containing mushrooms, or of course, LSD.

the analog laws are vauge in ways, and really act as a blanket law in the sense that all sorts of materials in nature in addition to all these synthesized compounds could fall under jurisdiction of the DEA and state organizations.
in louisiana over 40 plants are schedule 1, and in missouri salvia divinorum is schedule 1. all over the united states in stores all over the place, of many ethnic orientations , poppy seeds that contain morphine are being sold....
it is a mess basically.

after the big research chem vendor bust there is little in the way of activity in the US. I have heard of a canadian vendor that is reliable I geuss, but with the recent extraditions of people in canada and mexico recently I would think that even that is subject to US DEA control.

actually making these compounds in private labs in the US is probably happening on a very limitied basis I would think.

Most RCs in the USA now come from overseas, mainly Japan and Hong Kong. This is due to Operation Web Tryp, a DEA program to bust american vendors of RCs. Under analog laws, it is most likely possible to be prosecuted for possession of these chemicals, as 2c-b, and 2c-t-7 are both illegal.

I've heard rumors that the government plans to make any substance derived from phenethylamines illegal - this would obviously be very broad, and seeing as certain drugs which are legal if prescribed, amphetamines for instance, are in fact phenethylamines, it would be interesting to see how this law would be implemented. Of course, in a practical sense it is very unlikely to get busted for possessing these chemicals in the current state of things. Hell, the site I order from (based in Japan), will even ship 2c-t-7 to the USA, even though it is a schedule I drug.

What of the tryptamines then? It seems for the time being, these are mostly under the radar, as they seem to be less common. Still, numerous tryptamines such as 4-act-dipt, 4-act-mipt, 5-meo-dmt, and others are available from the most popular online RC vendors, though they tend to be more expensive which probably has something to do with their popularity. Furthermore, some of them, such as 5-meo-dmt, are so intense and active at such a small dosage (in some cases 1.5-3 mg is the active range according to TIHKaL), that they are not likely to hold much interest with the mainstream drug user. Experienced psychonauts are even likely to be apprehensive of these substances.

While there are few labs producing these chemicals in the US, don't be fooled by this, the US government traditionally has been ineffective at keeping drugs from crossing our borders - cocaine (a helluva drug =D ) is a prime example of this, I've seen statistics showing 99% of cocaine is produced outside the US, and then imported. Cocaine is omipresent, it can be had virtually anywhere in the country. What does this say of RCs then? I think all this means is that as long as there is an interest in the chemicals our borders will remain quite porous. Still though, psychedelics are generally desired by a smaller percentage of the drug using population compared to more "hedonistic" pursuits such as cocaine or the opiates. It is this combination of factors that is keeping these chemicals off the DEA's emergency schedules.
