I have currently no opioid tolerance (afaik) and got hold on Levomethadone (L-Polamidon) for the first time in my life (I wasn't able to get strong opis like morph or oxy the past few weeks). When I tried first 1ml (5mg) I didn't feel much , later that evening I took another 0.5ml and it was still not that good.

This morning at 6am (4h ago) I tool 2ml (10mg) and a few minutes ago I redosed because I wanted to feel a stronger buzz ... unfortunately I dosed a little too much because I thought it was the 0.5ml mark on the syringe ( that I use to dose) and not the 1ml (5mg) mark ... long story short:

I got 15mg Levomethadone in my system which has twice the potency or methadone => 30mg methadon) , I just read up on methadone OD and they said that people, without any methadone tolerance got into serious problems even at that doses (some people without tolerance died from 40-60mg methadon) . Since I already had yesterday evening some levomethadone as well as today with roughly 4h between my doses I would like to know if I gotta worry about it or if I'm just going to have the "usual" opi OD like throwing up etc

Every help is realy appreciated ! Today is the 3rd anniversary of my beloved cousin which is why I'm trying to numb my emotions a little ...

I have been on MMT off and on for 20 some odd years. This past month I ran out of my daily supply of methadone 2 full weeks before it was up for renewal and have'nt taken any methadone for the past 12 days , "cold turkey". For years I've struggled with the decision of wether or not I should at least give it an honest effort to get off it or not. It is easy most times to just resolve myself to the fact that I will probably be on it for the rest of my life. Thankfully I've learned enough about my addiction to recognize when the "addict" in me is in control of my choices.

Today, while at my doctors office my blood pressure spiked high enough that I came within inches of falling out. Told the nurse I wanted off my methadone and am now on a 2 week taper to just come off at least for a while to see how I'me gonna feel. Am hopeful that it's gonna work. I'me 50 years old now and am starting to question myself about a lot of things. I can't take the dope sickness "physically" anymore. My body is just worn out now. So, Ive been on MMT a long time. My highest dose was 95, but over the years, through several (failed) tapers, Im currently at 29mg's.

The deal is, once I get down below 35mg's or so, my once-a-month U/A's come up negative for methadone. At 1st it was a big problem at my clinic, but I was able to convince them I was indeed taking my meds. I guess they were concerned about me selling it, or whatever.

Anyways, my questions are:
Why is this happening?
Is it normal?
And most importantly, what does it mean in relation to me tapering down and eventually/hopefully getting away from MMT? Does this mean kicking will be easier or harder? Neither? I mean, I know it's gonna suck... Im just curious if this actually means anything at all.


Im not sure if it matters or not, but Im 6ft tall 170lbs, with a high metabolism. I religiously take my dose at 7:00am, and I give my monthly U/A at appx 3:30 or 4:00...

Any questions are comments would be greatly appreciated!

this nurse gets the info from contacts clinic. then asks

"how do you take the done?"
"oral liquid" awaited the typical 10mg pills.
5min later

nurse arives with strange amber vial, glass' yellow label, bout size of a takehome bottle, label stated it was methadone' 5mg per ml (might be wrong on concentration) she looked confused, "howd you say you take it?" holding the vial she showed where it said for inhalition. took the liquid back found the pills.

Perhaps patients suitable for doneya unable to swallow for whatever reason are given a mask with this shit? amazing and unable to find info. interesting to know if other drugs are also availble this way, although would imagine it woould never be used out the hospital, overdose so easy.

SWIM has access to MSContin 60mg all day for extremely low price and dilaudid 8mg.
Now what SWIM would like to know is when the methadone runs out because he gets "take home doses, a week at a time" and is dipping in, too early. It is taking ALOT of narcs to even get to that point of the feeling of taking a full dose.

When I call the Pharmacy, they tell me that they are out of stock until such and such a date, or tell me they don't give out that info over the phone to prevent being robbed.

Due to my CP, I am unable to drive and have to take the bus and can't spend the day bus hopping and then limping several blocks to the nearest pharmacy.

The one pharmacy I talked to said if my Dr. called, they could give them their inventory status, so I'm waiting for a call-back from my Dr., but I run out of Meds tomorrow.

Is anyone else who is prescribed Methadone running into this problem?

it was offered in methadone clinics in the late 90's and at my clinic it was somewhat new.

it is even longer lasting than methadone! you only have to dose every 2 - 3 days. however i never knew anyone who actually tried it. i'm not sure if it cost more or what the reason was (i was at a free clinic) but it didn't seem to be as popular as methadone.

they also had it offered at an expensive private clinic i went to but again - no one seemed to be on it - people there preferred the methadone wafers of course.

anyway - i was wondering if anyone here ever tried this and how it worked and if the detox was even worse than methadone which i imagine it was.

and i don't think it is being offered anymore around here. is it still around in other parts of the world? US? anywhere?
