Ok does anyone know how much meprobamate that Soma turns into? And also I was wondering if methocarbamol or Robaxin was a carbamate like Soma, Miltown and some other drugs I haven't heard of are?

I'm gonna move this to the chemistry section for ya so Robo , Oxy or one of our other resident chemists can answer this for ya.

I myself love Somas also..don't know the answer to your ?? and having computer problems so can't look it up for ya.

You should have an answer soon.

Any special reason you need to know or just curious? Just wondering?

I want to know becuz from what I heard Miltown is stronger. Plus in case my doc wants to take me off Soma I want to make sure Robaxin is a carbamate so I can switch to tht.

Robaxin is not worth s**t. Soma (carisdopral) is a much more enjoyable muscle relaxer, and I don't think it's in the same family chemically as robaxin or meprobamate. Valium is also a skeletal muscle relaxer as well as it's other properties. Stay away from Robaxin if you want to feel good about your muscles relaxing.

I know for a fact that Soma and meprobamate are related they are both carbamates and some Soma turns into meprobamate. I was just wondering if Robaxin might be a weaker carbamate.

Yeh, Soma is like a prodrug to Miltown. I was wondering myself what dosage equivalency would be. I was also wondering has anyone experienced cross tolerance between benzos and soma? Is it possible that there is something you could ingest along with your soma that would maybe increase the amount which is converted in your body? With a benzo tolerance it seems like somas don't do shit but have weird side effects.

I don't know off hand how much soma is bioavailable as meprobamate, I can find out later though. But as far as doing it oneself I doubt there would be much success in the "kitchen". Any hydrolysis one could pull would almost certainly just leave you with the diol and some propylamine, carbonates and carbamates as well as maybe a tiny tiny amount of meprobabmate. I bet takin' a piss on the soma and throwing in some acid would work better though...you know, the diol and the urea in excess to make the transesterification product (or transcarbamation???). Not worth the bother, let the enzymes work their magic. Those little fuckers are some of the best chemists on earth...

I'm wondering because I've heard from people that Somas don't cut it compared to Miltown but I love Soma and I want to know more about this class of drugs. I guess I already said that I was probably on Soma lol.
