I have come across a box of Zydol(brand name) otherwise tramadol. Can anybody tell me if they are anyway useful? Would appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on this query.:confused:

Honestly, they aren't good for much. At least to me. I've found that they're useful when you start to withdraw. It sometimes keeps the cravings, ect at bay. But don't take too many at a time because there is a risk of seizure. Although some on here will tell you they love them. GoddessofRats loves them, so there you go. I guess it's all in what you like.

If you're farily opiate-naive you can get a speedy, energised sort of buzz off three of four of them (they're 50mg capsules, right?). They're described as semi-opioid in the way they work, in that they tickle up some familiar receptors but also boost serotonin levels, so they're slightly anti-depressant.
In my experience they are VERY useful for alleviating opiate withdrawals, and - would you believe - they're also quite a good painkiller, haha!

Run Tramadol through the search engine and you'll find pretty much anything you would want to know.
And as SB I believe mentiuoned Goddess of Rats loves them so... ( at leat until she found morphine:D)
Personally, I find them helpful for WD's nothing else. You do know about the risk of siezures at high doses right?
For some they are great, for others no effect at all. Post back and let us know which category you fall into

I have never had any kind of high off of Tramadol...but like others have mentioned, they can be VERY useful for WDs. I had one the last time I was in bad WDs and I can't tell you how thankful I was to have found that pill.

I AM NOT OPIATE NIAVE and yes i love them, I've been taking opiates for 14 years lol. However, since discovering Morphine i seem to enjoy the Morphine more. Can't wait for refill day!! (7 days to go).
Do you know what strength they are? I think Zydol is a foreign name for them, no?
It doesn't have anything to do with being opiate naive if you enjoy Tramadol, what it DOES have to do with is your body chemistry. Some people get no affect from tramadol while others like me can get high off it. It's a different high than a regular opiate high, it's hard to explain. You can get a speedy affect, i think of it as an energy boost.
Anyway, if you have any other questions, let me know.

i don't think anyone can explain it more than some people get off on 'em, and some people don't. just like some people have seizures on 'em, and others don't. it just comes down to individual body chemistry and/or tolerance.
they are great for w/d though. 'Xamadol' (Xanax and Tramadol) is SWIM's w/d 'medicine'. (no, it's not a real drug...)
now give me your soul. :sandm:
