I know i posted a lot about my problems (for those who have been around a bit lol). Finnaly got out went to school did well noooow I MOVED - oposite side of the country ! Southeast coast to pacific northwest. Anybody else move recently? Im also in full W/D. Habbit got higher then its been before and i ran out after 3 days of being here. Its the wooorst feeling lol. Even when i was back in the SE my life felt like it sucked and was terrible, now moving and having that at same time feels like the world is ending lol. That along with family seperating (parents moving into seperate apartments right now + sister leaving most likely is very fucking weird!

Wow! You're going through alot. I moved three years ago and it's still hard. Why did you move so far? School? I would try to hook up with others ASAP. Also I'd try to get a doc to get a scrip to get through those W/Ds. Luckily these boards are here for support.

Ive moved quiet a bit but this time really sucked. I dont know what doctor to go to or what exactly to say - i had my reutine down with doctor(s) where i lived before and now im completely thrown off. Its also weird because i used to live here 5 years ago and im back in almost the same exact area (very strange).

Moving is hard for anyone, even harder of course for us junkies given that we rely on a stability of supplies that you can hardly just walk into your corner store for, we need to be connected to the drug supply networks somehow (which sucks at the best of times having to fuck around with criminals). Let alone when you have to move to a new area and work out who to trust and then build up the required trust with them as well.
I feel for you man, and to have the family upheaval going on as well it really does sound like you are stuck in a rough situation.
Anyone notice the irony, when you have a full blown habit and are actively using strife and trouble turns up precisely when you seam to be lacking connects or money or something. But when you are trying to stay clean the money and connects always seam to turn up exactly when the strife and stress to drive you back to using is at its worse. If there is a higher power such ironies prove they are a sick twisted SOB. (No offence intended to religious individuals, just in one of those moods just now)

I've never lived there, but isn't the pacific northwest one of the best places to find opiates? When I think of heroin, seattle and portland definitely come to mind.

hey Satori,
Welcome to the wettest Summer on record - assuming you're on the west side of the mountains. - If you ride or ski, then you are in for a treat.

Yeah, moving absolutely blows. My wife and I moved across town the first week of june. I can't even imagine how shitty it would be to move across the country.
On a slightly different topic, I worked for UPS a couple years ago loading and unloading trucks; there was a guy who mailed all of his packages (minus furniture from what I could tell) across the country instead of using any of the traditional moving methods. I thought it was pretty resourceful.

Moving definitely blows.
I had to move every year
when I was a kid
cos every time my mom and her bf
would break up we'd move out
only for me to wake up one morning
with him at the fridge wearing his ratty robe
giving me the "yeah, dickhead I'm back" smirk.
Ahhh,childhood

I just moved to the Portland area, and I cant find shit for connects. If it wasnt for a cool doc I found, I would have gone insane.

I've moved a lot...seems mostly just luck, to hook up. In my drinking days I'd usually be in a bar, and eventually just get to talkin to somebody who knows somebody...if I get desperate, I usually go hang out around an inner city methadone clinic...the free ones usued to be a guarantee of finding a score...but I gotta get desperate...and w/docs, it's always just luck, usually when I least expect it. But a junky in a strange town can be a tuff go...I've stood sick on street corners in all kinds of cities, w/money in my pocket, and just couldn't get right...usually a good and only time I'd successfully kick...

Old town, and like Duck said, try the MD clinics. There's tons of dope in Portland (OR).

Few months ago, I tried for hours to cop in downtown SD. I met some dudes who said they new people and a bunch of crack smokers who were too busy smoking crack, but never copped (except for the fucking bunk pill that I bought for $5 and chewed up which was a horrible mistake - I drove around scanning for open wifi to ID the pill and was pissed when I figured out it was a tricyclic AD). I was short on time and hiding my habit so that didn't help.. I kept thinking "fuck, I wish I knew DF and where he hangs out", that was around the time you disappeared for awhile..

I've never had to move when I've been an addict. It must be hard. Somehow you gotta finda connect; I can't even find a stable connect =/
