Forum Etiquette is found HERE (http://forum.opiophile.org/showthread.php?t=2438)
***FORUM ETIQUETTE***
Make your posts and/or questions as intelligible as possible. If English is your native language then do your best to use punctuation and well structured sentences.
Please give your new thread a relevant topic subject. Threads entitled "Please Help" or "Hey" are sure to be either ignored and eventually deleted.
Do not hijack someone else's thread. Find an appropriate place to start a thread of your own.
Pay attention to where you're posting. Posting a thread about Morphine in the Buprenorphine forum means your post will most likely either be deleted or simply moved without a redirect. More work for us - more work for you.
Use the forum search functionality. Most basic questions have been asked and answered already and it's very likely you can save yourself some face by taking the time to look around before posting. Our search queries full text - not just keywords.
If you don't know the answer to a posted question or problem and/or have nothing intelligent or helpful to contribute - don't.
Do not contact forum staff by Private Message to ask questions that belong on the board.
Don't try to build your post count by replying to every comment in a thread. Nobody likes that shit and we're hip to what you're doing anyway.
Use font colors only when necessary. Colors that match perfectly on the forum theme you're using now may not work out for someone else using another theme.
Typing in all caps is considered yelling. Yelling belongs on some other board.
Your foul and dirty language is welcome here, but not when directed at another member. Keep that fucking foul mouth of yours at bay when necessary.
Be nice to those new to the board. If you happen to be someone new to the board, be nice to yourself. Also, be nice to everyone else. Just be nice.
If in doubt, check out the forum rules (http://forum.opiophile.org/showthread.php?p=146) or PM a mod or admin before posting something questionable.FORUM RULES (http://forum.opiophile.org/showthread.php?t=38&highlight=rules)
Opiophile.org is here for the opiated. We're not a recovery board, but an information exchange designed and developed to promote opioid research, awareness, and harm reduction. In light of that, we're not here to 12-step anyone. This also means that in turn, we'd rather not be 12-stepped ourselves. (Opiophile.org does not condone nor do we denounce the 12-Step philosophy.)
Opiophile is for and about those who use opiates daily or even just occasionally. We're not just about pharmaceuticals, but also the researching of new plants and materials with opioid properties (our primary direction.) Check out each forum group; there's one for pretty much anything - and if there's not, let us know (http://forum.opiophile.org/sendmessage.php?) and we'll do what we can to create one for you.
There will be more to come here in the near future as to the direction in which we'd like to head and we certainly welcome any suggestions or input from Opiophile.org's members. (if you have some, click here (http://forum.opiophile.org/sendmessage.php?).)
So far we've only come up with a small number of rules, and we'd like to keep it that way if it all possible. There are a few basics, like don't type in all CAPS, don't post twice in the same thread (edit your previous post), no flaming, you know - general forum etiquette, but more importantly:
Don't get us into trouble.
------Trading medication or selling prescribed medication is a federal crime and will not be tolerated. Please don't do that here. Private Messages are truly private, but posting public messages about selling your meds is the quickest way out of here.
Don't make us a liability.
------There are times, especially as an opiophile, which can become quite desperate and confusing. Please do not post anything here concerning intent of injury to oneself or another. There's just no need for this, and what are we going to do about it anyway?
Don't make yourself a liability.
-------Heard of SWIM (Someone Who Isn't Me)? A great third-person method of phrasing incriminating statements. Sometimes, it might be better to mention a friend who's getting into trouble, rather than yourself.
Don't be stupid.
-----Never is there any reason that one should be attempting to illegally buy or sell drugs on this board. One might think that this rule is a given and need not be mentioned; think again. Many times throughout the life of an opiophile will he or she be in need of 'medicine'; this forum is not the place to get it, ya dig? The posting of online pharmacies is certainly allowed, the posting of a single email address with a menu of chemicals, all in caps, is not.
Don't be an asshole.
------If this needs explaining, you probably need to head in the opposite direction.
