Painmeds and good Docs...sweet relief !

Well Ive posted my story on hee before but Ill re-hash it briefly. I went to my reg doc and complained of shoulder pain. She basically told me tough shit and brushed me off. I then switched clinics and chose a new doc and she is awesome. Very 1st visit she gave me 30 5mg oxy IR. 2 weeks later I went back and she gave me 90 5mg oxy IR. I called her 4 days later and complained that the oxycodone is making me very itchy and its driving me nuts. She then called in a script for 60 vicodins. Now this in my opinion is a great doc! The vics dont make me itch at all but the only drawback is that they dont give me as much pain relief. I was taking 2 oxy's before bed and sometimes 1-2 more if I wake up at night. The itching is irratating but not horrific so I was wondering if I took only one oxy and 2 vics how that would be ? My question then is...is there anything bad that can happen by mixing hydro and oxy ? The oxy has no tylenol but the vics have the standard 500mg. I dont wanna push my luck and ask for stronger vics as I believe she has gone above and beyond at this point.

nothing bad will happen if you mix Vic's and Oxy's. unless getting high is bad. ;)

you can use the Vic's to stretch out the Oxy's. instead of taking two Oxy's, you could take 1 Oxy and 1 Vic (or 2 or 3 or 10)...

just watch the Tylenol intake. 4000mg of APAP/Tylenol is the max daily dosage. if you're going to be doing more than that, do a CWE on the Vic's.

and don't take them while you're sleeping. that's just a waste of good drugs! take some Aleve or aspirin or something for bedtime, and save your heavy stuff for when you're awake to enjoy it! :)

Have you tried Benedryl (sp?) for the itches? that helps me when I get those nice itches from taking a few to many percs :D
