Im sitting here with some utensils performing my smoking ritual and i just totally realized that i have a favorite set of tools that I smoke with. I usually smoke through the body of a ball point pen, the tube part, and a plain ol' bic lighter. I find smoking to be not as fun when i don't have these two things. Right now i have my metal tutor and my favorite green lighter. My tutor is nice because it is of a good length but i can take it apart (its two pieces) so i can clean it, unlike any plastic pen body. I was just wondering, on a whim, if anyone else has a ritual they do when they smoke, like a favorite tutor, type of foil, or lighter, just whatever. I use my metal tutor as described, my favorite color of bic's, green, and reynolds heavy duty foil. Maybe im crazy and have too much though into this. Obviously people who shoot have a ritual, but does anyone else who smokes have favorites like me? Let me know, thanks.

Well, I always buy a giant vanilla icecream cone from Dairy Queen after 'scoring' some chiva. I also use the SAME equipment for smoking H. Let's see, I put on my k-Swiss shoes to 'chase the dragon'---and it's around the block...over and over... can't quite catch up to that bastard. LOL anyway, some other things are:
-keep the shiny-side up when i chase
-take the phone off the hook before getting high and put back on 45 minutes after getting high
-chug beer/liquor to 'come down' or 'crash-out'
I'll post more when i can think straight.

I always liked using Jack-in-the-box straws when I was on the go. They are fat and strong. It sucks when you get high though and you get the straw too close to the foil and you end up melting the tip of the straw. Ahhh memories
I thought a tutor was someone who helps you study. What do I know?

Yeah I think he meant a "tooter"...
A lamp screw (the kind for 'make shift' bowls with the 'bake clay' designs at concerts). This took me a while to get , I always anchor the foil off something so it hangs (The R.W. heavy duty foil) over something. I then make a tunel out of the end with a cheesedoodle in the middle of the tunnel ( centerd from each end of the tunnel) as to trap vapor but large enough for some light to get in so I can see whats up. Then thats as far as I get put everything away and have a good laugh ,who the hell would smoke a cheesedoodle?.

OH Lordy Lordy Lordy!!!! You'll be more prone to the alzheimerz or worse with the shiney side up...:D
But on the real deal I'm not the ultimate authority on this but it's - Shiney side down- as the heat is better absorbed by the dull side and best deflected and thus heated more moderately by the shiney side.
But you do your thang there tiger. So long as your pre-heating that thin plastic coating off of it.Rynolds and every foil maker uses it to restrict the foil from rusting. Chase on soldier.

I have heard that rumor about the shiny side before but i have also read online somewhere that reynolds claimed it would not cause such problems. I don't think it matters but keep the shiny side down just in case. Also, im pretty sure there is no thin plastic layer on foil. Aluminum cannot rust to start with because it is aluminum and rust happens with steel. Aluminum can still form an oxide layer, which i guess is pretty close to the same thing as rusting. but anyway, if there was a plastic layer wouldn't it turn all brown and gooey while it was burning?

So i've heard... but if you're gonna do Coke foilies... it HAS to be shiny up... and so shiny up is the way I do it. Name a junky who considers consequences over getting high...and i'll show you a blackened piece of foil!!!!

'Some great answers here - loved reading the the replies (especially whoever mentioned stopping at the dairy queen on the way home from the score.)
When I first started smoking H, I noticed that my utensil (a disassembled bic pen tube) would start to buildup some crystaline h inside. I'd use this same tube, until I could barely see through the thing, and then (on a desperate day, should the occasion be of sorts) I'd take a straw just small enough to fit through the bic and clean it out, usually coming up with a decent pile of dope.
So reynolds made a statement that their foil was good to smoke drugs on, regardless of the side you used? Good move, reynolds...

I found the same to be true...except that once I made the mistake of putting the tube into a long 'shooter' tube you buy a shot from in clubs - with hot water...shaking it until the tooter was clean...then doing the shot... tasted SOOO bad... and didn't even help WD's! So DEFINITELY scrape and smoke that shit...

Oh~ and there truly is NOTHING like a giant softserve cone on a summer day when getting home from 'the spot.'

In my parts, the "tooter" is ALLWAYS made from foil- carefully folded (and rolled round a pen or something) so that when un-folded, all of the goodies are all in the middle and not on an edge part of the foil. (So it don't catch on fire!)
Oh, also... Shiny side down for getting stoned faster... Shiny side up for making your gear run further!

Reynolds just said that its foil had no chemicals that would cause any disease, alzhiemers (sp?) or any others. I really doubt that they gave any "go ahead" to smoke drugs. I did just read all this on some report over the internet though too, but judging by how it was written it seemed like the author had done his research.

I am sure that the shiny side is just a buffered side (extra polished) it's done so there are no microscopic ridges so food wouldn't stick as much (exactly the opposide is done when scarring or scuffing a surface before brazing or soldering to make more surface area for adhesion). Sorry if my spelling is messed I am F'light'n tired.
EDIT* it is a fact though , I just remembered, the dull side has some indrustrial process residue on it thats why you shouldn't use it to hold the goodies cause it'n not really clean.
