Last week i told my doc i had anxiety in hopes he'd give me Ativan like the last time i told him i had anxiety. Really i wanted it on hand for W/D's but this time he gave me Buspar. I know i can't get high off of it or anything. And basicly it just calms me when i take it at night.

Do you think Buspar would help with any W/D symptoms. I also have Robaxin and Xanaflex. Those two muscle relaxers really did nothing for RLS the last time i had w/d but i hoped they would. the worst part of w/d for me is the RLS, OMG it's jsut awful.

Anyway, i don't have to worry about all that right now tin this MS contin I'm on but in the future would Buspar help with withdrawal?

One thing i did notice when i took it last night is it kinda potentiated my MS contin... but that could have been my imagination. Is that possible?

And a 3rd question. What do you all call Ms contin for short, like Dilaudid is Dillies, what is the nick name for MScontin?

Thanks everyone

well, i call it morphine.... lol... thats the latest street lingo.... seriously, i dont know of any nicknames for the stuff...

buspar wont help with WDs... well it didnt for me... it may for you...

so you got shifted from ultrams to contins... good for you, those fuckers pack a good rush when booted. Ativan does work, maybe go back to doc and ask for them. tell him that the buspar aint cutting it and that worked for you in the past. I find that ativan is pretty easy to get (in my experience)

nice ta see ya back

All ive had is bad reactions with buspar...whenever i took it it gave me opposite effects such as increased anxiety and increased heart rate, and correct me if im wrong, but i thought it was supposed to calm anxiety and relax you...idk, i dont really dig the stuff...but everybody's different...

Buspar did nothing at all for me, well besides make me a little tired it didn't really do much for me but everyone's body chemistry is different so it's hard to say if it's going to work for you or not. i dont know if it would work for withdrawal i never took it for that reason...

But as for the MS Contin or any Morphine i hear a lot of people call it "Morph" But i just call it what it is - Morphine...

What a coincidence! I just had the anxiety talk with my doc last week and was also given Buspar.

I can't offer any info on whether it helps with withdrawal, but I can say you should be on the safe-side and check for drug interactions between Buspar and anything else you take.

It does potentiate certain drugs, and is also potentiated *by* certain things...it probably mentions on your bottle not to take it with grapefruit juice, for example. Its the whole thing with the liver enyzmes and not eliminating the drug fast enough. Too much Buspar and you get anxiety and rapid heart rate.

For what its worth....

Restless Leg Syndrome. Its a neurological condition. Makes people need/want to move their legs to relieve weird nerve sensations. This site gives a good desrcription:

I sooooo hate Restless leg syndrome. I HATE IT i tell ya. It's one of the worst parts of w/d for me. It gets so bad for me that i keeps me up all night. When your in w/d one thing you want so bad is to sleep but with RLS it's impossible. One reason is because i have to keep rocking back and forth and wiggling/shaking my legs and that keeps me from sleeping.

And sometimes i have the urge to like snap my legs. Sometimes i sit there socking my leg muscles to help, you know like how Angelina Jolie did in 'Gia' when she was withdrawing off of the H. I do that same thing when i have RLS.

It's kinda like having ants crawling around under the skin of your legs and in your muscles.

This is why i went to the doc (Not my main doc) to get something to have on hand for w/d and my RLS but he gave me that fricken Buspar. I might give my PCP a call next week and tell her i have real bad anxiety since knowing I'm going to be having surgery in Oct and i need something to relax me and i'll tell her that Buspar makes my anxiety worse (Which can happen with Buspar). That is if she suggest it. She'll give me pretty much anything i ask for, i don't know why i didn't go to her in the first place but i couldn't get an appt with her that day so i went to the clinic. I doubt my Pain Doc would give me anything for anxiety since he already has me on Ms Contin, Xanaflex and some other muscle relaxers.

You'd think Xanaflex would help with RLS but it didn't help me. It helped the first night but after that it didn't help.

Thankfully i won't have to be going threw w/d in the next week but the week after that i may have to deal with it- Yuck.

Oh well, watcha gonna do LOL.

Try taking a combo of 550 to 100mg magnesium and 100 mg benadryl to try to help the itchy feeling......

Throw away the zanaflex.

good luck.

Hey i just had a thought. Maybe i should just tell my doc i have this RLS or just desribe the symptoms i have, of course without mentioning that i have RLS because of w/d LOL. Maybe she will prescribe me this Requip. I just red up on it but i still don't know what the drug exactly is.

It does say it causes sleepiness.

Anyone know about this Requip and if it would help LRS caused by w/d?

Yea i still love my Tramies. But i am enjoying these MS Contins.

I'm real careful with the Tramies though. I've yet to have a seizure even on the doses i take lol. That doesn't mean i won't someday but i think i would have had one already.

lol i have to agree, my doc perscribed me it and i took one dose and threw it out. i think it's what they perscribe to you when they suspect your faking anxiety for benzos.

No i think he got spooked and he turned to the camera. I found it somewhere on the net on StumpleUpon. IF any of you like surfing the net for interesting things go to StumbleUpon.com, it's fricking cool. I sit there all day stumbling lol. and they have a section for 'Drugs' and you can surf only drug pages if you like. I mostly surf art and rat stuff but might try the drug pages today.
