Part of the reason I became a member of opiophile.org was to help spread the word about Harm Reduction. The other reason was to be part of a unique and wonderful group of people that I could identify with.
So, in saying that.......June 27th, 2007 is National HIV Testing Day!!!!
Yeah!!!!! I knew you would be excited:)
So Please, send this message to others or go and take the test yourself.
It's easy and you can even get tested for Hep C too that day!!!!! Even Better!
I just want everyone to be safe!
But, remember there is a window period, and you need to be rechecked in 6 months to be sure your negative. Meaning....
If you have practiced unsafe sex or shared needles or equipment for injecting with anyone else in the past few months or weeks, you need to be re-tested in 6 months to be sure your negative. The test looks for antibodies that your body makes if infected with the virus HIV or Hep C or both. It can take up to 6 months for your body to produce antibodies that will show up in a test.
So, once tested it is time to stop sharing and use protection to be sure your not infected. Then get a test done in 6 months to be sure if you test negative now!
I hope that makes sense...I have been up all night working to keep America, or really it's junkies safe from HIV/HCV!
