Methadone will not show up as an opiate on a drug test like heroin will. Methadone is a separate test. What you need to know is whether or not they test for Methadone or not. I would be willing to bet they don't. I believe most employers just do the basic 5 drugs of abuse test (opiates, stimulants, cocaine, THC, and alcohol) Good luck!

Only if they are testing for methadone. If they are testing for methadone, I think maybe propoxyphene could show up as methadone (a.k.a. "Darvon" or "Darvocet" - with acetaminophen).

Pretty funny that most of the time they don't test for it because I sure as hell would want to know if somebody who was working for me doing something like running power tools, or driving my truck was on methadone. methadone will get you purty loded, yo.

Oh shit! This is great news, i was told a few months back when i was on 'dones way more often and i was told it would show up under opiates on the basic test. This is an awesome piece of news. I know this is the methadone board but might as well ask while we are on the subject; Does Oxy show up on the basic test? Since SWIM was wrong about the 'dones hopefully he'll be wrong about this.

Oxycodone again will not show up on a standard opiate screen, but extended ones can detect it.

The standard opiate screen detects metabolites of morphine thus will detect diamorphine (heroin), morphine, methylmorphine (codeine) anything which is converted to morphine in the body, oxycodone isn't.

look at the actual test paper.. if it says 5 panel bund.... your all good, if its says 7 or 10 ur fuct, but HIPPA laws will protect you if you go to a clinic. you can get a doctors not without it being to specific

actually oxycodone may cause a positive test due to its cross reactivity with morphine.

" The standard drug screen for opiates--generally performed with a dipstick, test strip, or specialized cup which urine is placed in--will detect the presence of oxycodone as it cross-reacts with morphine in these tests."
but...

"But in almost all cases, a positive drug screen for opiates would result in a confirmation test being done with a more sensitive method such as GC/MS. "

trust me you can defintly fail a standard opiate test from taking oxy.. i know firsthand.

Thanks alot LegalizeOpiates for correcting my inadvertent misinformation there, I just hope that nobody decided to act on my answer at a place that does not actually do GCMS confirmation testing between then and now.

Sorry to anyone mislead by my answer, was trying to help but clearly that didn't go so well.

on a basic test, only morphine, codeine, heroin, and opium itself will show up
