Sid & Nancy

I always loved this part of Sid, and Nancy even before I did dope. The scene where they first meet, and everyone is sleeping on the floor. Those tow are talking, and somebody gets pissed and throws a big a*s phonebook or something at them.

Sid/Gary says "You almost knocked a bloody, Fing eye out". I just thought that was great. I'm a freak.;)

Hey Paregoric, Im almost positive your avatar is Gary Oldman playing Sid. I have seen that movies too many times. and I remember that scene. I could be wrong though

I hate to be honest, but I was a disco darling while all my friends were into the punk scene. I was scared out of my wits when I'd go out with them. I'm that old though, and my brother was way into punk, and would crack my head if I put a Donna Summer album on. Alot of fistfights.

My friend was into GG Allin too a little later. I'd go up to NYC with her. CBGB's. Yeah the Sex Pistols couldn't be touched. We'd only get The Dead Milkmen in Philly.

Freaking Gary Oldman is a class actor. Did a good job, but nobody is Sid. My friend thought she was close to Sid cause we are from Philly, and Nancy was from Philly. Your avatar is the very first one I noticed. I'll check out if my friend has anymore of her vast collection left. Ummm. We traded alot of stuff at the used record store sweating with our runny noses. Sad.

I used to have that bootleg version of the live Sid Vicious recording, nope it's not Gary Oldman, it's the real thing...he does a bunch of covers "Chinese Rocks" and "Now I wanna be your Dog" was amongst them...

Oh, man, that record called "Love Kills, NYC" is a Sid Vicious live album. What a shitty musician! But is sounds sooooo cool. I love his cover of "Chinese Rocks"

Remember that scene in Sid and Nancy when Sid is walking through some abandoned lot or something and there are a couple little black kids there with a boom box dancing, and they say "Hey Sid, come dance with us" and Sid does this half assed little dance with them for a minute. That was kind of surreal. How did the kids know his name?

I got a funny story about Sid & Nancy, it seems a life time ago but;

I'd just got the movie on VHS, (I had a BETA-MAX) My girlfriend at the time was 16 I was 17, and she had a VHS machine, and her Mom and Dad were leaving for the weekend to some bike rally, no big deal they did it all the time and they trusted her, so we made plans - I'd come over around 8-9 pm and we'd watch Sid & Nancy, well my friend stopped over to my house around 5 and said "let's go" I knew what was coming next, we took a ride to our dealers house and got a little of this and that and then we both dropped a couple tabs of acid, I was thinking it would be cool to be tripping while watching the movie....so an hour later we get to my g-friend house, as I'm getting out of the car, everyone ( we added a few more people, funny how that happens when you have a car AND drugs!!!!) was giving me crap and saying to stay w/ them....but no, I had to go.... Well that feeling, you know the one, is starting to grow in my gut - here we go, get ready for the ride 'cuz it aint stopping now - that one. As I get to the door it grows about 15 feet tall but then comes back to normal, I knock on the door, my g-friend opens it and say hi, I give her the movie and tell her to hurry up, she had no idea I was tripping, she grabs my hand and starts to lead me into the house, just then I see her mom and dad sitting in the living room, they didn't leave, they are here, she tells me that they didn't go to the rally, but would love to watch the movie w/ us....at this point I'm turning to go BACK OUT THE DOOR, trying to get my hand free....I see the door slam behind me and it's 15 feet tall again, NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Man, I had to sit there the whole time peaking w/ the movie on the couch next to her mom, she asked if I wanted any popcorn at some point and I just about freaked out when I looked into the bowl, really, it looked like brains!!!

No fun AT ALL!!:(

I have 2 shows from NYC and one show from England that Sid did, but there is supposed to be another one, that's the one I meant. I like the 3 live Sid recordings I have, they are rough but great.
btw I meant the avatar, pic next to my name of Sid, wasn't sure if that was gary or sid, not the live recordings, those are indeed sid lol.

Yea I can laugh now, but trying to fight the trails and the "visions" and not seem too wacked out....
