Avinza, New morphine drug??

I was at my PM doctor yesturday, he wanted to switch me to avinza. i guess it a new morphine drug, i get 180 roxi 15's every 15 days. did i make the right choice?

Avinza is not a new drug. It's time released MS in a capsule ( inside are tiny time release balls containing the morphine). Did you make the right chioce?? Depends. Are u using them for pain? Do you use them to get high , if so what is your ROA.

Without knowing the above answers, I'll tell that I did not like Avinza. For pain or recreation. Would rather have had the Roxi's.

yeah, I never did Avinza before, but I did MS Contin before and you can pretty easily slam those time release morphine pills and they're good (like oxycontin) because they come in high-dose strenghts. I mean most people don't slam a whole MS Contin 100mg or 200mg, or a whole Avinza 120mg in one go, so they are cool because one pill can give you like two doses IV.

Morphine is definitely cool and will do the trick. If you can get that on a regular, man you're doin fine in terms of junky status. I know it ain't no doctor in his right mind would give me a scrip for Avinza, much less a scrip every month for 30 of 'em. All I git is bupe. :mad: But still, bupe's better than nothing.

You know I shoot my Avinza. But 30 caps..that would not last me more than 1- 2 days. ( dependign on his tolerance it may last him longer) He's better off with the IR oxy. More bang for the buck..given the amounts.

Yeah, I'm with flip here. I get the 120s from time to time and with my tolerance I could easily slam 4 sometimes 5 of them without a problem. I remember when one would do the trick and actually give me hives all over my back and shoulders... twas nice. After this latest stint of abstinence though I shot one the other night and actually got pretty high, no nod or anything but still nice. Good to see you back anyways Zoop, place aint been the same without you.

id say keep the Roxi's like everyone else..... even highest strength avinzas couldnt beat 180 roxy's

Your crazy man, Morphine beats Oxycodone hands down. Ever try to get a good nod off of oxy? Good fucking luck, more upbeat like Hydrocodone than sedating like Morphine/Heroin. Unless your planning on selling those bad boys for $0.50 to $1 a mg to get some real drugs the only thing oxy is good for is keeping the sick off and getting the motivation to vaccum your house. Bah humbug!

Even though I like morphine, I think you did the right thing.
360 oxycodone 15mg IR per month is a great script.

If the doctor is considering giving you an equivalent dose to the 180mg of oxycodone daily, I would at least consider it. As a fellow chronic pain sufferer who also takes opioids for both pain control and to get high, I can relate to having to take so many pills daily. I was the same way before I was switched to MS-Contin. Avinza is a 24-hour controlled-release form of morphine, rather than immediate release morphine or oxycodone which lasts at best 6 hours, and normally only 2-4. This means much less pills daily.

The highest dose of Avinza is 120mg. You would need about 270mg of morphine daily. A good script would be one 120mg Avinza BID (twice a day) along with two or three 30mg MSIR's daily for breakthrough pain.

I like morphine (hell, I better, i gotta script for it) but given the qty. of oxy you're getting, I'd say keep the oxy.

to me morphine is almost worthless crap...
I would MUCH rather have oxy any fucking day than that morph cRAP.
but remember everyone reacts differ to every chemical...

morphine doesnt give much euphoria for me. Just sedation and itching. Nothing more. I personally can take my xans, lyrica, and soma if i want sedation... oxy actually gives euphoria to me(to an extent, i still think oxy is weak as hell, but better than morph!). Keep in mind my usual and drug of choice is Fent(gel patches).
So for me morphine is more so sedating than euphoric while oxy is more euphoric(what you want).
I don't even like going in and out of it, the whole nodding thing. I don't find sedation that euphoric. If I wanna start nodding in and out of it I can pop all my benzos, somas, n other crap!

morphine wouldn't be all THAT bad if you had a BUTTLOAD of it though. Unless I got a wholebotter(per day or two) it's not even worthwhile. Plus every morph script I get now is those damn msContin 30s(garbage to me) or kadians(usable, but still crap compared to my roxis). I was on the MSIR 15 and 30s once and those still couldn't touch a roxi. I only take two Roxi 30s a day with my fent and 'done. and they are the best breakthrough meds I've been on. (shhhh, smoking fent is a no no:cool:)

so if it were me, i'd tell them to keep the damn morphine, n gimme ma roxis!n I would take three Roxi 30s over 10 Avenza 30s any fucking day! and to me it seems like I need a good 230-260mg morph to feel what 90-115mg of Roxi does. maybe my body is just fucked and hates morph lol. I didn't even find IV morph THAT bad ass. I thought IV(and IM) demerol was A HELLUVA LOT BETTER than IV morph even... for recreation and analgesic effects.

but thats just me man. remember everyone is different! hope you find something that helps!
