I've been getting some insomnia recently, Happens from time to time, opiates or not. Last night I decided to combat the problem with booze... OK, so I just wanted to get wasted...

Anyway, I get home from a shit days (3 hours that is) work to find my emergency stash tin open, I'd taken one of the seroquels I keep stashed for insomnia emergencies. Now I know I don't like the stuff, only for emergencies. Then I go into the kitchen & realised I'd single handedly polished off over 1/2 of a 3L cask (you know, those classy boxes) of red wine.

I woke up confused & felt like zombie arse all day but I slept like a rock.

Yeah, it's 7pm here, just had a good feed, my head is clearing and I'm back to drinking the leftovers to mess it up again. Once again, the cycle continues. At least I'm not tired.

Ill tear the house apart looking for anything to fuck me up to sleep,
xanax, sleeping pills, nyquil, alcohol, trazadone, and lately zanaflex has been working
wonders for me. Ill eat a handfull of em and sometimes snort a little xanax and im out like a puppy.
But sometimes ill wake up 3-4 hours later when the drug wears off.

Yeah, it's very difficult for me to get to sleep. It doesn't matter what kind of benzo. sleeping pill I take, or how much of it is taken. I STILL sleep maybe 4 or 5 hours a night, if I'm lucky. and this has all changed within the last year. I used to be a real lazy ass, sleepin' until noon sometimes one o'clock everyday. Not now. It seems this all changed after my serious oxycontin binge last November. Who knows?

seroquel works for me like no other supposed sleep aide. i've been combating the next day zombie effect by drinking three pots of coffee before i leave the house for work each day.
the shit is so effective that i sleep like the dead once i'm out and waking up and coming out of that fog has become a serious bitch.

Be VERY VERY careful with Seroquel, I lost friend on that shit.
It was too heavy for me, too much like the old-time anti psychotics that knock you on your ass.

i'm scripted to 200mgs a day right now - 50 twice during the day and 100 at bedtime.
i don't take the daytime doses because you're right - it's way heavy, and i got shit to do during the day.
and i don't need near 100 to fall asleep - i knock out at 50 right now,
although initially i started being able to sleep on 25 but my body has acclimated to it and i've upped the dose.
i can certainly see why it would be dangerous though.

Yeah, it was accidental. She was prescribed a very peculiar dose in my opinion.
Who would have a need (or capacity) for 1100 mg of Seroquel a day?????
She was my friend's Mom, anyway, now my friend is suing the mental health place/psychiatrist.
There is just no way she needed to be on that high of dose; she wasn't schizophrenic or anything.

yeah that was definitely an excessive dose. from what i've read the highest dosing should be around 600mgs a day as there are no benefits proven be had at anything higher.
so yeah it seems as though someone fucked up big and should be held accountable.
although it won't bring her mom back, i hope your friend takes that facility and the inept psych doc for every penny that they have.

Fuck, Heidi. That's sad and crazy. Yeah seroquel is some heavy duty shit. I got some through a mate of a mate, first time I tried it it turned me into a drooling mess. No recreational value. Sure knocks me out though. I just 1/4 these big 200mg pills.

I used to clean the carpets in doctors offices and occasionaly i was able to get into the drug sample room. I felt like a little kid walking thru home depot with those really tall isles. I mean the shelfs went all the way to the ceiling. I had my friend spot me while i snooped around.. Nothing good!!

SWIM managed to get a few samples of Seraquil. Aparently most doctors offices dont have sample narcotics, or the docs use them theirself. Oh yea it was tempting for SWIM, but he didnt take that pad of blank perscription papers either.

Yeah, I don't think Dr's get samples of any controlled substances, unfortunately.
Here it is 4:22 and I took 30mg of Restoril and 1.5mg of Xanax at 9 last night.
I've got alot of shit to do tomorrow, SRS interview for cash asst. at 9, spinal tap at 11:30.
It will not be a good day today beings I've had no sleep. Oh well, thank god I just filled my dilaudid.:D

I surely beleive that they would take anything good..
Some docs get tons, I mean boxes of samples boxes to give away.
Unfortunately it wasnt anything worthwhile to people like us, too bad...
