Sometimes, after being up a couple days eatin pods, my feet swell up big-time. I'm a dude too, so that may rule out other explainations. Like right now, my skin feels reeeally tight, like it will tear if I clench my toes real hard. And my ankles are nowhere to be found. I'm 6' and 185lbs... so I'm not over-weight or nothing.
I work construction/ remodeling by day, and sit in my uncomfortable desk chair by night. What I'm wondering is, Is this a common thing among others here? Is this a sign of bad circulation? Or a sign that I may very well have the MOST uncomfortable chair here? I just hate going to the doctors and figured if this happens to other pod eaters or opiate-lovers, then I have nothing to worry about... or we all have a lot to worry about together :D
Thanks guys!!

Sorry Noddy, it don't happen wit ma foots.
Could be a bunch of things I'd assume. Does it only start after you have some pods?

Yeah, but I wasn't sure which was causing which. Cuz it only happens when I'm partaking in some podage, but then again, I don't stay up all night sitting at the desk without them...
I'm convinced it's from being up several nights ina row, and sitting for a better part of those night hours... what I'm wondering is if anyone knows if this is a serious circulation issue, or is it more common amongst others and I need to crawl out from under my rock?
Thanks Alow!

I'm in no way able to say it's a serious thing or not, (I never even played doctor as a kid :(), Run it through web md or some other site like that, but if you haven't ever used any of those sites be forewarned - they make everything sound and seem like you got 5 min. to live, even if it's a headache.
But I'd try that, before making a office visit.
Now is it just the swelling, or is there any pain, discoloration, that "tingle" feeling. Have you tried putting your feet up when it happens and see if the swelling goes down.
I think I saw something called P.A.D., about poor circulation in your legs...maybe it was something else...

Perhaps you have the the gout? Also perhaps your pod useage just masks the pains, or its some weird w\d symptom? dunno, ideas?
Hey bro, that nice Acebeans had the same problem and he has a thread about it check it out.
The goodnews is Acebeans is still alive.

swelling feet as not a thing to worry it can happen for various reason I -nod but if it hurts as well thats your liver giving you signals.
other than that wearing tight shoes, standing up too long even if you nod in the chair at the night times you feet on the ground, different substance inside the gear then usual, shooting up from your foot etc. It should go away within 2-3 days if not get it checked..
thats all from my experiences. and I am alive and kickin.:jumping-s:jumping-s hope it disappears soon man..

I have had this problem, generally when i am slamming more than 400mg morphine a day, which i haven't done for years.
just cut back a bit if you can, elevate your feet(this helped me A LOT!!), and ya hopefully that will do it.
Just a guess, but excercise, such that your pulse is around 120bpm, should greatly increase blood flow and likely speed the resolution of this problem and likely help keep it from returning.

What the fuck!!!! Swelling in the feet is indeed something to worry about, especially as I-Nod described. And more than likely it is due to a decrease in circulation and has nothing to do with your liver.
Sorry, Majortom I just had to jump in here at that.
It is very possible this comes from sitting in the chair all night and you should try to elevate your legs if you can. I would also advise you do see a doctor. It is one thing to have swelling in your feet, but that kind of swelling is a sign something is wrong and it is most likely a problem with circulation.
But then, it is just my suggestion and years of nursing that point to a circulatory problem.
And yeah, smoking can be a contributing factor!

Great... thank you VERY much Candy!!! I do have a bad habit of nodding off in the chair and just sitting in it for long periods in general. I get plenty of excersize at work (construction/ remodeling) so it usually goes away the next day... but on the weekends when I'm just chillin', it stays. I got an appointment for my back next week, I'll definitely bring this up to him then... minus the pod usage :D Thanks again, I really appreciate that candy!! Oh, and I took all you guys advice and laid down w/ my feet propped up on a bunch 'a pillows, and the swelling went down considerably and very quickly. Like they were just filled up, and all the blood drained back out. I can't lay like that too long tho, damn back of mine!

Although I don't slam... I may very well be getting huge amounts of morphine daily from these pods. They're the most potent ones I've had since last fall! Very interesting point tho... about larger amounts of morph bringing that on w/ you. I'll "try" cutting back a bit. As good a time as any to put the tolerance in check I guess. Appreciate it superman, much thanks bro!!

:o Yeeeah... I smoke too :o You don't happen to take large amounts of morphine do you EGirl? Thats one of the main alkaloids in pods, so I know I've got to be getting a decent amount... I doubt it's anywhere near 400mg, but who knows? Hope you're doing well EGirl!!

Ahh, I'm guilty. I didn't do a search. I really didn't think this would be even remotely common... looks like there's quite a few that this happens to. Thanks for the thread info bro!!!
You're not a diabetic are you?
Nah, no diabetic. I'm actually a fit and healthy 31yo... or so I thought. Thats why I thought to ask here, somethin didn't seem right. Thanks again you guys, whut would I do without ya???

Well, under some circumstances certain parts of your body do get swollen:D.
Reminds me of a joke I heard one time.... When you're old, everything that used to be soft turns hard, and everything that used to be hard turns soft.

If you are a heavy nodder, I would take very seriously your situation with your feet. I know two guys in wheel chairs because they nodded out in a position that cut the flow of blood to the legs. One of them had his left foot amputated just below the knee, the other guy still has both legs, but they don’t work at all.
I don’t know how long it takes to lose function of the legs permanently, but I have nodded out while sitting on the john and lost circulation bad enough to make them completely numb in less than an hour. And I am talking so numb there was no way I could walk or even stand on them for close to twenty minutes and was doing the massage routine trying to get blood back in them. And it hurts bad when the feeling comes back.
Are you pregnant?

i dont want to alarm you without cause but swelling of the feet can be a sign of congestive heart failure it is definetly somthing you want to get checked out .
push your finger into the front of your lower leg does it leave a dent? if it does that is called pitting edema it can be caused by a lot of things some of them very serious.
i would see a doctor about this for sure if i was you

Nobody has yet mentioned the possibility of a DVT (thrombosis). This can be a sign of it.
Go see a Doc - you don't need to mention the pods, I'm sure they're incidental.

I've had this very same problem for several years now. In my case, I can say that its directly related to how much meds I am taking... early in the month, after my refills, I take more and consequently, I sit for longer periods of time, noddin, sleepin, ect. Consequently, my feet and lower legs swell. My lower legs will often get so bad that the fluid will "weep" out of them... the tightness and stuff causes them to itch and I will scratch them, often causing me to injure the tissue and stuff... its horrible...(sorry for the mental pic there). Of course, as the month goes by and I have to start managing my usage better, I am unable to sit as long and find myself putting my feet up more and more... this will usually make it go away, and my legs will scab over and all.... by time I go to the doc again, the only sign is allot redness and stuff in my skin. It will leave them discolored down there.... so, what I'm saying is that if your sitting allot relative to your pod usage, it is most likely directly related.
The only problem here, as Candy and others have explained, there are so many things that can cause this very same thing that its better to be safe than sorry. Go see your doc and just let him rule out any viable alternatives... at your age and all, you don't want to die from a blood clot or from congestive heart failure, or some other serious condition that can cause swelling in your lower extremities.
One last thing I will say is that my doctors seem to take the same approach to leg and feet swelling as pediatricians now take regarding fever in children... its not always the presence of swelling thats the biggest deal, its whether or not the swelling can be dealt with using standard treatments... such as stopping for a bit and putting your feet up... or, taking a fluid pill from time to time.... my docs have never gotten too concerned about my problem because if I just stop antagonizing the situation by sitting too long etc, then it goes away.
Hope it gets better!
