enhancement of opioid-mediated analgesia: a solution to the enigma of placentophagia
look this up on the internet.....pretty interesting, apparently all those asians popping placenta pills might be enhancing their pain medication.
something to do with placenta consumption reinforcing endogenous and exogenous opioid analgesia.
now, I have a box of these human placenta pills from japan as part of my ethnomedicinal collection, never thought about consuming them, as I am vegetarian...
jlf catalog might still sell human placenta as well.
I think the traditional chinese production of placenta drugs is to actually seschwan fry the placenta and then cut into strips and dry.
the abstract article mentions that the active substance in placenta and amniotic fluid has been named POEF, for placenta opioid enhancing factor.
now that doesnt tell me much, but wouldnt be interesting if this active substance might be found in other parts of nature?
I will do some research into a deeper description of POEF. maybe the substance has been analyzed further, as this article is at least 5 years old.
also, I have heard that some substance in deer horn gelatin helps opiate withdrawl, and can help augment opiate tolerance
just a few things to chew on..............
