I need to know how long before your script goes back to the Dr. after you take to the pharmacy and fill it?
The original hard copy you bring in on a C-II.
Very important, I gotta find out an answer to this quick.

I would imagine it depends on the pharmacy, state regulations regarding the handling of said item, the courier...quite a few things I imagine. In short I doubt there is a definitive answer on this one. If I was going to make and un-educated guess I would say 7-14 days.
I hope this has nothing to do with you getting double scripts on everything! I know my doc would make me wait until the overage should have been used up as directed. Conserve..

I was referring to the third one in my previous post. I have been diving around on Google and a few other search engines and have yet to find any relevant information. Your best bet would be to pull up your states pharmacy board web site and do some digging.
Sorry I cant help ya out more. Your posts have helped me quite a few times in that past and I really do wish I could do more for ya.:(
I would ask you what state you live in buts thats more info than I want and I'm sure its more info than you want to give to some low post beotch such as myself.:D

Heidi, CA did away with the "triplicate system" last year, but when it was in effect here's how it went:
The script has three copies. The top one (hard copy) and two duplicates. The Dr. keeps one of the duplicates, the pharmacy gets the hard copy, and the last dupe goes to the state agency under which these Cll's are controlled. The part I can't remember is if the pharm keeps the other dupe, while sending the hard copy to the state, or the other way around. But in any case, the Dr's copy is the part he pulls off and keeps at the time he writes the script. As far as I know, neither of the other copies goes back to the Doc. Hope this helps, among other things. Chin up, babe.

That's correct the doc should have kept his copy, the pharmacy keeps one and the other goes to whatever agency handles CII's, whether it be the state board of pharmacy or whatever.
ADD: I'm looking for some info right now for you Heidi, found this that might interest you though. When I find the other info you desire, I'll post it.

This is Cali's triplicate process:
California is currently testing an electronic monitoring program for Schedule II controlled substances. Until the pilot program is completed on July 1, 2003, pharmacies will also have to continue submitting copies of the triplicate forms to the state monitoring agency.
A triplicate prescription form is a paper prescription form issued by the state to prescribers, who must use it when writing prescriptions for covered controlled substances. The prescriber keeps one copy after writing the prescription, and the pharmacist keeps a copy when the prescription is filled and sends the third copy to the state PDMP

I cannot believe I actually had that one down! Thanks so much Roxi. All info is good to have on hand and in head. I didn't know how we were being "monitered" since the closing of the triplicate system. But I knew there had to be some way and that they weren't about to just let docs write whatever without interference of some kind. The Cll's I get now from me doc are written on a blue, textured background script, and have inclusions that are not on a regular script. All records are now kept on computer, as well. She's typing on her little laptop throughout my visits, and now also requires her patients to be seen in person every month. That just started a couple months back. Before then, we were only required to come in every 6 mos, as long as there were no changes in the meds, and we could just go in to pick up our scripts each month. But I guess, as usual, some "agency" didn't like that idea (of course not, as it made life a bit easier on patients in pain), so now it's gone.
You are the best at finding good, valid, important info, Roxi, and I appreciate it more than you'll ever know. Thanks so much for being here for us.

Thank you so much Roxi, I needed to know what's coming down the pike when I go fill that script.
Trying to figure out if they can come after me legally or not. I really don't give a fuck right now.
