Great stuff man. Him and e.e.cummings are my favorite. Thanks!!
When I was first courting my woman, as a token of my love I memorized an e e cummings poem to recite for her. (Which is really strange of course since his poetry has more to do with typography than the actual words.) Nevertheless it blew her shit away. I know that poem by heart to this day, "since feeling is first who pays any attention to the syntax of things will never wholly kiss you..." It was a very appropriate poem for a computer programmer in love.
But enough about cummings, time to get into some Bukowski. Thanks for the link, I'm off to do some reading... thanks again.

I actually got extra credit while I was in juvenile prison for writing poems.
I really enjoyed it, I really delved onto my cocaine and speed addiction and dug deep. I
really wish I had that poetry book, it was some of my best 'intellectual' work. The cool thing was,
my English teacher at the prison 'high school' sent the poems into the State of KS poetry contest
for that year. Unbelieveably, I won 1st place, along with a savings bond. How cool is that????:D

a riot in the streets
it's a good day, a good time, anybody can
blow a hole through you at any minute.
they are shooting from the rooftops now
and the night sky is smoking,
red.
what more could you want?
you can watch it on your tv or you
can look outside, it's the same
thing.
they are letting it all out again.
airing it out.
it's healthy.
the cops are hiding.
nobody is bored tonight.
the safest people are already in jail.
everybody feels curiously alive,
at last.
it's party time!
this city is the whole world
and it's running right at you.
it's a good day, a good time!
hell is coming out to play
with you.
(one of my favorite poems.)

now I get it
that crazy bird
with the raybans on
rambles on
in misconstructed haiku
style
and now he shares a book
poems like a mirror
reflecting his own misconstructed
style
if I know one thing
I know that originality is
quite overrated
