Does Methadone make you lose an appetite?

I dont know y but ever since I got prescribed this shit I never have an appetite. I have to smoke some weed to get hungry for some reason. It's like if I dont smoke, I dont eat. :confused: Does anyone else have this problem with eating when you're on Methadone?

I find opi's in general be it done or any other that they make me hungry. At first it was the oposite tho, i was so crazed to get more that i would just ignore hungry to presue my goodies. Now that i have withdrawls, i get my fix, i feel normal, i can actually eat. And boy do i eat, its fucked though im so skinny yet i actually eat pretty good, so i dunno.

SWIM's on 40mgs of dones right now and has the munchies....a trip to Wendy's, then Taco Bell and SWIM is still snacking around....so IMO no. hehe

All strong opis make me have no appetite... the only opiate/oid that ever gave me the munchies was poppy pod tea and opium puddy made from pods. Strait regular opium never had this effect on me, well maybe a bit but NOTHING like pod extracts do. Weird eh? something about pods make me hungrier than if i hadn't ate in a week! Wayyy worse than the drunken munchies! and thats sad!!! Now strait regular opium isn't like that :S

But methadone makes me have no appetite. Well like I looove to have the taste of something and only a few bites of some damn good food but thats just for the taste basically lol. Fentanyl, methadone, hydromorph/Dillies, and dope all make me kinda loose an appetite.

I have lost a good 20-30lbs over the past 3yrs since I've been on the fent and methadone!

yeah one of the side effects of the 'done is loss of appetite.
But many people start eating a lot more maybe to compensate cravings? like many start drinking a lot more since they are in mmt like i did...

Whats weird is when i was on fentanyl i always had an appetite, even when i was on oxy's i still had an appetite but now its weird i dont eat as much as i used to, i mean i smoke a lot of weed with done and it really gives me the munchies. idk but it's some weird shit!

A friend of mine who is prescribed 240 mg a day for back pain says that Methadone actually decreases his appetite. He has actually lost weight on it. I find that it doesn't make me eat any more or less but it must be slowing my metabolism since I have gained weight on it.

I didn't eat on methadone, not hungry, used a shit-load of coke, but still, mysteriously, i put on weight.

Some doctors will try to say it's because you're looking after yourself better, after stopping junk.
But studies show, it effs with your metabolism big-time, especially women...
Just finished my done detox and poof!! all extra weight gone.

Also, don't know about other girls, but my period vanished while i was on done, but never while i was just using h.

Methadone creeps me the fuck out.

For me it does make me have less appetite, simply never seam to feel hungry on it at all although I will soon get my mouth in shape for something I think is going to taste really nice (more a compulsion than actually physically feeling hungry) then I would eat a small amount of it and feel full, the amount of cash I have wasted on buying food because I felt like it then only eating a tiny amount of it.

I have lost quite a bit of weight on it people keep commenting about the fact I have lost some weight, usually positive though I supposed I didn't need as much as I was carrying lol ;)

I have been working out and eating about 500 calories a day and still I am a fat blob.. I fuckin hate methadone..I have realized that the more i go up on my mgs..the more i gain. Does anybody know of any pills like good water pills or metabolism uppers..non narcotic plz..would appreciate the help.

Im pretty new to dones but when i'm on it i don't really get hungry either. I kinda wish it did like some of you are saying because ive lost a lot of weight recently.

I'm easily able to only eat one big meal a day on methadone. Maybe it's due to the numbing of the stomach?
