As you may know, I am one of the 'legal' users in that I get a prescription for morphine. That may change soon....
In BC, the College of Physicians and Surgeons has, on their website, the outline of their new program for morphine prescriptions, and it is called the "Controlled Prescription Program/Prescription Review Program". There are referances to a 'symposium' that tells how to decide of a patient should get the morphine prescription or not, and it is basically this:
"IF YOU HAVE CANCER YOU CAN HAVE AS MUCH AS YOU WANT BUT THATS IT".
Really, and my own Doc told me so this week. No matter if you have severe pain, and have been taking morphine for 15 years or whatever, they will insist you be taken off morphine. This is the wisdom of our top medical people in British Columbia.
Obviously, this will lead to more street drug seeking by a large percentage of those pain patients. Heroin will be the choice for many as the morphine supply dwindles as people get cut off.
So, who does this "Presc. Review Prog" benefit?? WHY are they taking this radical step? Is 'cutting patients off from their morphine supply' going to help someone make money? Is there a private or corporate profitseeking going on here?? [cuz that usually shows whats behind these schemes]
Possible reasons why:
1] Heroin sales might be going down, and this is one way to boost them - government agencies that deal in heroin are in cahoots with the pharma-giants on this one. {Read Big White Lies for more info on how the CIA and other Republican party interests sells drugs in the USA and Canada.}
2] Sales of other 'newer more profitable pills' like anti-depressants and anti-inflamitories and Vioxx will increase as the doctors prescribe them for 'the newly cut-off from morphine' patients
I put the stunning one first. I happen to believe it. Creating more addicts is a big business, and when there is that much money - 2nd only to the oil industry - in street drugs then you can bet that the big government people are not going to let it just slip away into other people's banks. Of all the drug dealers, the CIA has brought the MOST cocaine into the USA.
Selling 'legal' drugs [pharmacy] was the world's 3rd largest money maker after oil and illegal drugs, until the War for the Death Profiteerss in Iraq placed the weapons makers ["pentagon contractors"] in 3rd place this year. They are all related, all working together. Same ownership groups. Same deaths, destruction, and profits.
