Suboxone IV health issues...

We'll i've searched and looked through the Bupe/Sub forums (searching for any keywords like sub, IV, or injection on here is like a needle in a haystack)....

SWIM has been IV'ing Suboxone and is wondering about any specific afflictions this could cause (Other than the standard IV'ing conditions). I've heard that it is not good to do but what are the possible negative effects.

Gosh. I've spent a lot of time thinking about this. It's something I'm pretty sure I shouldn't do but at some point I'm sure I will.
I'm just a little worried about the mixed results I've heard so much about. That an losing control with the one thing that keeps me in control and saves me and my wallet twice a month.

Opi, I was scared the first time I did it too. Really you don't have too much to worry about as long as you have been on your subs with NO agonist for like 3 or 4 days. They say not to shoot over 1 and a half 8mg pill or the Naloxone will cause a problem, I wouldn't know having only slammed 8mg before. It's not dope, but atleast it's something to shoot. If you wait a bit between your doses you can even get a small rush off it, believe it or not (I didn't til I tried it). As for if it's bad for you to shoot or not, I am sure it is. Really it's not the smartest thing in the world to bang any pills, they aint made for that, but those subs harden and expand my veins like no other. Just one shot will ruin my vein in that spot for like a week. If it does that to the veins it can't be good going through the rest of the body, right? It's not like I have sensitive veins either, only other thing that has hardened my veins was excessive use and not rotating my sites... one shot of subs will do the same damn thing though.

For some reason, there's a ton of hysteria on these forums about shooting Subs. I don't see how it's any more risky than shooting any other pill. No pills aren't meant to be shot, but if done properly, it won't cause any immediate problems.

And like Chemboy said, as long as you aren't currently dependent on any other opioid, the naloxone shouldn't affect you.

Been using the same vein / spot for about a week of shooting them and its a little more sore than normal but no hardning or any other (extra) negative effects. I did experience some hardening with the Tar out in Portland Oregon though felt like a lima bean was sitting in my vein.......huh.....

Just this second I felt that slight rush you mention. Rush might be the wrong word but I felt something warm and cozy. Very mild but I know that feeling no matter how slight it is.

Yeah, like I said man, it definately aint anything to write home about. But when I have been on nothing but my subs for a week or more and haven't so much as smoked a joint I start to get that needle fever, you know what I mean, and shooting twice my sublingual dose of Suboxone really helps to wind my nerves down as opposed to the subs doing nothing but keeping me from being seriously sick and still feinding like a motherfucker.

Different people react differently to the same thing... the human body and pharmacology are weird, complex things, there are very few definates when it comes to either. I was just saying what my experience in shooting the subs has done to my veins, not that it will do it to everyones or even the majority. Shooting Suboxone (or even using it as intended) is fairly new territory, we are kinda testing the water with this one still. Can I ask where you were tapping when you where slamming your subs though? Mine was one small vein on the top of my foot, which has been exclusively abused and only comes out to play every once and awhile now-a-days, and the other was the crest of my right arm, which is pristine in condition. Just curious. I know that I have talked to others, also, that have complained of Suboxone hardening their veins, but they always had more than one shot to do it too; mine will harden everytime on the first blast.

SWIM was hitting the (looking down on the left arm) the large vein (artery?) that is most predominate on the left side of the inside crook of the arm. (using roughly 30-45 units of distilled water).
Dosage was anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 of the 8mg orange pills.
