Many of you access this site from your place of employment. In order to protect your privacy, Opiophile.org recommends (and has great luck in using) GhostZilla (http://www.ghostzilla.com/).

Ghostzilla is a Web browser like Firefox, but it shows up and disappears instantly, discreetly, blended with your application -- any application -- so the Web pages look like part of it and not like the Web at all.

Click here (http://www.ghostzilla.com/screenshots/index.html) for additional screenshots, head to http://www.ghostzilla.com/ to download the application.

Any 'security' features other than the fact that it hides inside app's? I would love to get an easy to use IP masker or somethin....

I use www.surfshield.net (http://www.surfshield.net) or www.the-cloak.com (http://www.the-cloak.com) - great stuff, just not a browser....

This program blocks cookies from going to the IT's computer. I installed, surfed a little bit, went up front to check if my stuff was on the host, nothing was there!!

I just went and check agian, nothing. There is nothing stored in my computer either. Unless they changed something in the host computer, since the last time I deleted stuff out of it, I don't see any of my files under my user #.

great tools! I would have no idea on how to get the shoutbox to work, it uses java so there's probably not much that can be done. How about the cloak? Did it work?I just went and check agian, nothing. There is nothing stored in my computer either. Unless they changed something in the host computer, since the last time I deleted stuff out of it, I don't see any of my files under my user #.

It's documented

From the site:
During your browsing session, it creates some temporary files in Windows TEMP directory, but removes them all on exit. This way it leaves no trace of activity. On exit, only your personal settings (preferences, bookmarks, passwords, history), the so-called user profile, are stored in a small, portable, encrypted archive, at the folder of your choice (Ghostzilla-CD never writes into Windows registry).

You can even chose to archive the profile on a floppy than you can carry along with Ghostzilla-CD. Armed with Ghostzilla-CD and the floppy with your profile archive, you can surf surreptitiously on multiple computers, without leaving trace on any one of them, always keeping your settings with you.

that's what i said, "Way to find that documented feature!" (that I missed, stupid, stupid me.)

Seriously, that's really cool and makes the browser even better than I thought. Next time, I'll read the directions...

I haven't tried this yet but I am Systems Administrator and have been for several years. I have also dabbled with Programming C++ and always wondered if there was a way to browse the WWW without it announcing it. I will post once more if it actually does not although I must say I highly doubt it works. I would like to thank you for the program as I have never heard of it. Thanks and nice to meet you all,
