Scary first experience

So I'm no exactly opiate naïve, I've got no problem putting down 200 - 300mg oxycodone in a day, or more sometimes. I've had dilaudid in the past, but only orally or nasally, in which case I had 20 - 30mg. Really wasn't all that impressed. Well I started to IV a few months ago and wanted to try hydromorphone again as I hear thats the only way to really do it. So right before I took the dilaudid I had been off of opiates for about 4 or 5 days. I cooked up a 2mg dilaudid pill and shot the fucker.

It was an amazing rush, like nothing I'd experienced. Well the rush didn't seem to stop like morphine would. Over the course of the next few minutes I got very light headed, and then my vision started to go black. Next thing I know I completely passed out. I'm not sure how long I was out but I awoke lying on my back. This wasn't like the nods where you happily nod in and out, this was straight up unwillingly passing out! Now 2mg is no where near LD50 for dilaudid, and I hear about opiate naïve peeps starting with 4mg IV. So what was this bad reaction I had? Since then I've had no problems IV'ing 2mg at a time, but I'm scared shitless to try a 4mg shot.

It really sounds like it was just a little bit too much for you. Just because you can take "X" mg of oxycodone doesn't mean you can convert that number to a dose of a different opiate, with a different route of administration and be right on (or equivalent to the oxy dose). There is NOT 100 complete cross-tolerance to opiates; i.e. you may be very tolerant to the oxy but if you haven't had the dilaudid in awhile, you are not as tolerant to it.

Be careful, I wouldn't go to 4 until you can take 2 without passing out. Also, how is your prep? Are you sure you aren't injecting solids or anything else that could be harmful?

1mg iv can be alot even for opiate tolerant. Dillies are weird like that IV. Its like any tolcerance ya have dont matter, you kinda gotta build a tolerance to the dillies themselves (which happens quick). I would have to agree, it was just to much for you. The rush off of hydromorph is surreal, and can last a while in the begining. dont go up to quick, enjoy the lack of tolerance.

I can easily bang 24 mg at once, but still get a decent rush offa 2mg (when ive been off a while)

Kinda what I thought too, essentially a small overdose. The rush was intense, but then got scary, and then blackness. I've got no idea how long I was out for; I guess I really should be glad that I woke back up from it. After that experience I did 1mg at a time for a day, then 2mg in a shot for another day and then was out of dillies. Tell you what though I learned to respect the needle and dilaudid, I don't want to end up a statistic.

When i started slammin dills 2mg was a lovely hit, with daily use that goes away very quickly, now my usual shot is 8-12mg.

But yeah if 2mg is too much then just break them in half, like said earlier you gotta develope a tolerence to HM itself, I had a tolerence for OC when I started, and that didn't seem to matter.
