3,4-Methylenedioxy from other families

So what is it about MDMA that makes it so fucking euphoric and entactogenic? I was thinking about that today, and doing some learning when I came across another very similar looking molecule, this one called 3,4-methylenedioxynapthalene.

I put together a chart to display this molecule with a bunch of other similar, if unrelated molecules. Some images were taken from erowid.

These are all INCREDIBLY interesting, and relevant to us as opiophiles because of those two little molecules (natural opioids) in the bottom right corner. We've got another thread to talk about those two, but this is a seperate, and unrelated molecule.

Anyone know about it's activity? I can't find anything about it, but I'd love to find something. Right now I'm looking all over the place for possible entactogens with MDMA-similar activity. MDMA, IMO doesn't belong in any of the previous drug classes. Or rather, it represents a possible, brand new, type of drug type (psychedelic, depressant, stimulant, dissociative). I think there hasn't been more talk about this new class of drugs because MDMA still fits in well with the stimulants. If there are more entactogenics out there, lacking stimulant, perhaps even possessing sedative properties, this class of drugs would certainly lead the world in abuse potential.

Can you imagine MDMA-grade euphoria and entactogenicity in a stimulant-free or even sedative drug? I'd love to shoot MDMA but I hate the stimulation. I couldn't handle speed IV. I don't like to snort it, even.

t has to be one of my favorite combos. Hell, lets just say it is my favorite combo. Best euphoria you can possibly get from a drug(or two, or three) IMO.

another combo that has those qualities is valium + shrooms. I must admit I've only done it once but it was the euphoria of e with shroom hallucinations and this amazing body glow & no edge to it. Some amazing synergy, much recommended. (mushroom season soon here! ; )

I have given shooting MDMA a good try. I used capsules that were full of MDMA powder and the experience was quite unpleasant. IT IS NOT WORTH TRYING.

The best thing about oral MDMA is that it gently builds and then lets you come down slowly.

I can't really comment on this. I tried E once and it didn't do shit... I'd imagine the body high to be something like a really good 'shroom trip. I've experienced some incredible euphoric feelings while frying on some cubes.

Out of me area of expertise, however, not out of me area of psychological explorations. Methylone: Where to look, buy; quantity to take for initial exploration, and method(s) of ingestion would prove to be most valuable to participate in uncharted territories.

Not exactly sure what your asking really, sorry. Are you asking for where one could obtain some pure Methylone, if so PM me; I don't post sources publicly. Anyways the active doses range from 150-225mg but I have taken upto 350mg and not had any problems. I am talking about orally though; I have heard of someone on here using Methylone PR and getting good results but I have my doubts about it due to it's solubility. Maybe you can shove it up the old chute and get off though, I couldn't say having never tried it. Keep in mind that there is another similar chemical that is also commonly reffered to as "Methylone"; the Methylone I am talking about is (2-methylamino-1-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)propan-1-one) the imposter is bk-MDMA; you can compare the two below and see that they are very similiar, but definately not the same drug.

I think so, you can be fined under the analogues and isomers act or whatever t he fuck its called.



It's the same situation is 2cb and all its analogues, 2ci and c, d are "legal" but they're considered analogues of an illegal substance and they can be fined as such.

To chemboy7: the 2 molecules you show of methylone are the same chemical!!! Just thought you might want to know that. And I am about 100% certain that MBDB is not a controlled substance since it is not an a-aminopropylbenzene like other amphetamines and does not fall under the analog act. It supposedly feels similar to MDMA(empathenogenic)but without the strong stimulation, although I have heard that it doesn't have nearly as much euphoria as MDMA. Oh well you can't have everything!

Go to Erowid and look for the references to Shulgin's book PIHKAL he did a pretty decent comparison of the methylenedioxyamphetamines, other than that UTSE.

i was gonna say, bk-mdma is methylone. Really, though, methylone is MDMC, since instead of methamphetamine you've got methcathinone.

its cearly the perfect molecule for its emotional purpose, its an emotional drug and the only drug known with the specific effects it has.

many drugs are very similar in structure and work on the same neurotransmitter systmes in the brain, but mdma is perfect!!

thats how things go and its quite mysterious. similar substances can have such different effects on the body and different substances can sometimes act similar. the human body still holds many mysteries.
